My Instagram post about my weight has received almost 30,000 likes and people keep asking me what I'm doing to have lost 125 lb that I have dropped already.
I decided to First share my technique here on this site. It does not entail cutting back on the amount of food that you eat or intermittent fasting. It's basically just changing "what" you eat. It is been under the strict review of The dietitian at the centre as well.
First and foremost processed foods need to go away. Everything must be prepared from fresh ingredients at home. That does not mean that you can't go out and cheat once a week, but that's it. Keep it to once a week. Shop only from the outside sections of the shopping centre and stay out of the center Isles (fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats mostly).
Don't starve yourself and eat three Square meals a day until you're full, just make sure they are healthy. I pack a lunch everyday if I'm not going to be home.
Since I love guacamole I make homemade guacamole about once a week. I make sure that my guacamole is like a multivitamin. I use avocados, garlic, cayenne pepper, citric acid, jalapeno peppers, cilantro, olive oil, tomatoes, flaxseed, and red reishi mushrooms.
A very common meal for me might be two chicken tacos made from roasted chicken, with chopped onions, and my homemade guacamole over the top. I will adorn that with celery sticks dipped in guacamole. I will also add iced tea and a diet soda so I can get enough liquids.
One of my breakfast choices is egg drop soup with two eggs including the yolk in chicken broth with my homemade guacamole added to it.
On the weekend I might make a chuck roast with steamed vegetables. I will take the leftovers from them and pack them in my lunch for several days as well. Again with my celery sticks and guacamole.
Another one of my favorites is homemade Ceviche and there's many recipes on the internet for that. Sometimes I served that over a bed of sliced washed onions, or other times I serve those on corn tostadas.
I am not on a zero carb diet but rather a low carb diet. I get most of my carbs from corn tortillas or very small amount of potatoes. Upon occasion I make homemade sourdough bread but limit that to just one sandwich roll per serving.
I have gone from 450 lb when I first started to 325 at present and still dropping. My blood sugars went from the 600 and 700 range down to the 100s. I was at stage 3 kidney failure but now my kidney function is showing up as normal. I was showing an abnormal EKG that has since resolved itself.
I still have many health problems, but that's part of being older. But many of them have gone away.
Cheating is a normal process, we can't deprive ourselves all the time. When shopping I don't buy my sugary vices. If I want to cheat I am forced to go out of the house and buy the cheat item one at a time. I also buy one candy with my grocery shopping once a week.
It takes about a month to get used to the new diet. It really is not easy in the beginning. But after a while it just becomes habit.
