Well,

I am just about 3 weeks postop (excision), and am fairly happy with my results. My right side is awesome, and my left side is ''getting there''. My left side had major hematoma and swelling, but it has since been drained and is now looking similiar to the right. However, I have a ''dent'' above my aerola, where my pectoral muscle is. My doctor claims that the tissue absorbed a lot of blood when I had the hematoma, and that the swelling in my chest will go down.

However,  I don't think that this is normal swelling, he claims that the tissue has just been saturated, but I don't even think that my left side is swollen anymore. Its basically the same size as my right, but has a fairly noticable ''dent''. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

Sounds like maybe they took out too much in one spot, it happens.

My son had sort of a "dent" under his aerola on one side.  I was extremely concerned.  The ps said two things would happen, swelling would go down, and the skin would retract around the muscle.  Both have occurred.  The ps said the first huge change would happen at 3 months and the second at 6 months.  My son is 2 months post op and continues to be amazed at the continuous changes to his body.

It will take six months to see what the final result is. Be patient.
