Hi im 16 turning 17 from Sydney, Australia and I have had this abnormally big chest for awhile. Once again I've started hitting the gym and things have been improving but I still suspect I have it. This unfortunately sucks! Please help me with an answer! I am seeing a poeditrician soon! My mum says I'm fine and so does everybody else I've seen. They say its part of puberty but I don't believe so! BTW the first photo was taken today and the other 3 was taken a week ago.

Yes, it's gyne. Wait and see what your doctor says. Then, tell us what he said. Losing a bit of weight could help a bit but that would not make much more difference. I'd give a 3 on a 0-10 scale. As fars as your mum, mothers (or fathers) tend to disminish / deny the fact coz we're their child and they want to reassure us !

YES, it is a case of gynecomastia. Due to your age, the volume may be mainly glandular tissue. In any case, I recommend the periareolar tissue resection and liposuction. The scars are practically invislble. Feel free to write me for more information at drcaloca@drcaloca.com

i saw my doctor today and he said i had it but it was only due to my hormonal growth and that it would remain there for sometime until puberty ends.. he told me if it didnt leave after my puberty years.. to definitely go to a specialist and have surgery.. he also said my case was "nothing to worry about"

In that case, count your blessings. If I had known this condition when I was your age and in your shape, I probably would be much better off physically from where I'm at today.

If your doctor wants to wait, use this time to build up a savings to help pay for the operation. If you're lucky and the condition recedes, then you're still all the better, and that savings can go towards higher education or other ways of bettering yourself.

Good luck.

I visited my poedetrician today and he said I definitely have it but it is mild. He also said that mine won't grow but would either stay the same or shrink a little bit. He told me to wait till after my High school exams which is around November next year to do surgery. I personally can't wait! However, what would the price for gynecomastia removal surgery be in Australia?

your case looks exactly like mine.  I'm very fit, but my upper ribs just happen to stick out funny right around the nipple area.  I've also got a bit of gyne/gland on top of it so it all looks worse than it really is.  You're younger than me though, so you've still got some time to see if your own body improves itself.  I agree with the "mom" comment though, every time I ever told her about my problem she would tell me that she never noticed.
