UK Surgeons

I'm coming to the point where I have to choose a surgeon. I'm on the NHS and from what I understand they give you a choice of many surgeons, however I have no idea what surgeons there are and which ones are good or not. I'd want one near London or Cardiff...

So I thought it would be good to make a definitive list of UK surgeons, saying which ones are recommended (or not), if they are NHS, private or both and where abouts in the country they are. Maybe it could be made a sticky to help everyone in this position from asking the same questions again and again!

If people could post surgeons they know of then I can update the list in this post?
