Thanks for posting Bob.

You have puffy nips, what did he say about this particular aspect and did he refer to it specifically?

Thanks
H

No, he didn't mention it.  Though, to be honest, it was a rather short interview, I think mainly because I went prepared, knew what my condition was, knew how the surgery would be done and knew something of his work.  The puffy nipple thing doesn't really bother me, I'm more concerned about the general contour of the chest.  From what I feel, I have a fair amount of fragmented gland (hard lumpy bits) that radiates out to about 1 inch from each nipple.  I'd say in total it was the size of a large egg, although it's not the same shape, more like a large egg that's been semi-flatened against my chest, if you see what I mean...

Anyway, I'll keep this thread updated with pictures of my progress.  I think it's very important to share these thing, I know it's helped me a lot see example of surgeon's work and hearing the experiences of other's.

To the guy who posted his pictures (pre-op).  Your condition is very similar to mine.  When you push down on your nipples with your fingers, can you feel the glad or does it feel like air/nothing is there?

I had my surgery 6 months ago, and my results were dissapointing.  Nothing changed.  I hope you have better luck in your surgery.

My nipples go from being soft to hard if touched (Can't believe I'm discussing this with strangers on the web!  ;D), no idea if that's 'normal' for a man?  Are nipples always hard for men without gyno?!  Anyway, when I push on my nipples it initially feels soft but then I hit the gland after I've pressed in slightly.  If you see what I mean.

Well, I'm getting myself prepared for my trip.  Got some spare cash, got travel insurance, and bought the Arnica tablets!  I've left getting organised a bit late!  So much to remember!  Bit worried about having to take £700 in cash...

Ya ,  i thought that too. At least they take you straight from the clinic to the airport so theres less chance of losing it!

Unfortunately, I'm arriving the night before and staying in a hotel.  Anyway, tomorrow I'm off for the op.  Fingers crossed.  I will try and not think about all the things that could go wrong!   ;D  Just have to get packed now and try and remember everything I'll need!!!  Will let you all know how things go.

Well, I've just got back.  Things went very well, it's been three days now and I'm in hardly any pain at all and have very good mobility in my arms.  Immediately post op my chest was completely flat and there was no sign of any glad or fat.  It's started to swell a little now but still looks good.  Anyway, I'm off to bed but I'll write a more in depth report soon and post pics.   ;D

Day -1, Tuesday 13th

Arrived via Easyjet at 16.00 and was met at the airport by a taxi arranged by the clinic.  The taxi took me to my hotel, Hotel Praktik, right in the centre of Barcelona.  Popped out to Spar to buy some food and spent the evening watching DVDs.  I strongly advise burrowing/buying a portable DVD player.  During my trip I watched about 10 films and 4 TV series!  It saved me from extreme boredom!

Day 1, Wednesday 14th

Checked out of the hotel about 10am and walked to the clinic, as it was only a couple of miles away.  The hospital wasn't difficult to find and I met Aida outside at 11.30am.  Got myself checked into the hospital, had blood test, did paper work and was introduced to my room.  Aida was extremely helpful in all this and stayed until I'd settled in.  Dr. Benito also visited to answer my questions and mark me up. The hospital was all very modern and professional.  I had an excellent room with an ensuite bathroom.  I particularly enjoyed the electric adjustable bed and TV, which had a selection of movies available that I took advantage of over the course of my stay.

Between about 12.00 and 15.00pm I was taken through various pre-op things and eventually wheeled do the surgery room.  I'm not sure when I was given the knock-out juice, one of the nurses started to get rather more chatty, asking questions like 'where do you come from?', and the next thing I know I'm waking up at about 17.30pm, all bandaged up.

For the rest of the day I was anchored to my bed, what with all the drains and drips stuck into me.  However, I was fairly comfortable and not it much pain.  The sensation was more strange than painful, my chest felt weirdly detached and numb.  But flat!  :D

Before going to sleep that night I finally had something to drink and eat, having not done so for over 24 hours.

Day 2, Thursday 15th

I slept well considering my limit movement and spent the day basically just eating and watching dvds.  At some point the drains, drip and bandage were removed and I was put into my compression vest.  I was very well looked after by the nurses, who came in regularly to check my blood pressure, take my temp and bring me my food and drink.  I was also visited by Dr.Benito and Aida to see how I was getting on and to let me know that things had gone fine during the surgery.  I had no problems getting out of bed and washing (although, rather embarrassingly, the young nurses were prepared to assist me with that...but I declined their generous offer).

Day 3, Friday 16th

Pretty much the same routine as Thursday.  I left at about 1pm and got myself onto the Metro to head back to the hotel.  Carrying my rather heavy bag was not really a problem.  I spent the remains of the day relaxing in the hotel and, you guest it, watching DVDs!

Day 4, Saturday 17th

The cheapest flight was in the evening so I had time to kill, so I spent most of the day walking around Barcelona, taking in the sights.  Got a taxi from the hotel to the Airport and arrived back in Blighty at about 11pm.

Photos soon!

So, it's been six days now.  Bruising hasn't started to really colour yet.  Most of the fluid/swelling seems to have gone but things are firming up.  It was flatter immediately post-op, so I'm sure it'll only get better and better as the final swelling goes and the scar tissue heals.  I'm particularly pleased with the tiny incision wounds.  ;D

Are you gay?

Firstly, how do you know the nurses weren't male?   :P  However, they were women but it would have been a bit weird!

Thanks for your comments, although my gyno wasn't excessive (probably only because I'm quite slim), I hope that I'll now have a chest that I can be happy with.   I plan to exercise lots when I've begun to heal properly.

By the way, Dr.Benito took out 400cc (is that the unit of measurement for these things?) from each side.
