I am twelve years old with gynecomastia. I don't exactly know the cause of it, obesity, or puberty. I am overweight and I'm sure that contributes nothing good. I need some advice for whether or not I should have surgery for it :-\. Please comment.

the best thing you could do is to lose some weight first. you may just have fatty gynecomastia that will go away when you lose body fat and get into better shape.

eat healthier (cut out sugar, sodas, fried foods, all junk food etc). focus on eating more veggies and lean meats. at your age just eating health and getting a little more excercise should make a significant change on your body fat levels.

if you do indeed have gynecomastia, the results from surgery will be much much better if you are at a healthier weight. you wont' have as much excess skin and the doc would be able to contour the chest better if any lipo was done. if it is a case where surgery is warranted, you'll be much more pleased with the results if you're in better shape

how bad and how long have you had it?  outside of the first 2-3 years you're probably stuck, but many surgeon aren't comfortable doing it early on since there's the risk that with the irregularities of puberty it could come back, but you'd have to discuss that with a ps and/or an endocrinologist.
* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?
