Skin Tightening Surgery Last Thursday

That was interesting. Lying awake (under local) talking with the staff and doc while they remove my skin was strange.   Not painful, not too scary, just weird.  Really no worse than having a cavity filled.

I hope this is it, no it is it.  However this turns out it will be better than what is was, and that is good enough.

Tomorrow I take the bandages off and get my first shower.

Ill post pictures soon.

Thanks Doc.

I have been off the boards for a few weeks.  With summer over, my procedure done, and starting a new job my G has not been as bid a deal as it normally is/was.

So far I am pleased with the results from the skin tightening procedure.  Swelling has gone down a lot in the last couple weeks sine I started massaging it.  My next appt with Dr. J is January.

That is kind of my aiming point for final results.  Looking forward and working out for next summer now.  Got a feeling my 41st summer will be my best.

Six Weeks After Surgery

Yesterday, about 2pm it finally happend.  We had a pool party here at the house.  With a half dozen kids in the pool and their parents sitting poolside I walked in took my shirt off and headed for the diving board.  As I stepped up onto the board I was facing everyone, my son yelled out "yea daddy is coming in".  I then did my best can opener, come to the top, and realized no one had cared at all about what I looked like, so I climbed out and did it again.  I am 40 years old, and I have not stood on a diving board shirtless since I was 11.

I have my second follow up tomorrow. I am looking forward to it.

I will drop a note in here after my appointment tomorrow.

This is a really wonderful entry.

How are you doing?  I think everyone is really anxious to see some of your photos!!  You have been keeping such a great diary here.

I am seeing Dr Jacobs in 3 weeks for my 1 month post-op.  I like reading how involved he is with his patients post-op.  He is a surgeon who genuinely cares about his patients.

Been off the boards, seems like forever.

Life got in the way of coming here.  Changed jobs, helped run an election, and coached my son's football team.

Thanks for all the views and posts.  My workout routine is back in full swing, and I am committed to losing the final weight, about 20lbs.

Pics coming soon, promise (jan 1 after swelling goes down.

9 Months after Surgery

Just thought I would check in.  I have been working out hard since my last surgery to try and get in good shape for summer.  It's not a new years resolution, but I was thinking the other day  I miss coming here to discuss this issue.

Hope everyone is well.

I am seeing Jacobs in two weeks, I will post after that.

Thanks for the kind words on the diary.  I have enjoyed keeping it.

I feel I am in my final stages of this ordeal.  Shedding the final pounds and adding muscle will make the transformation complete.  4/15 is my surgery anniversary.  Pictures go up here that date, good or bad.

I saw the good doctor on Friday.  Not sure if I mentioned it before, but he has recognized who I am through the site.  Not sure how I feel about him knowing all my goofy and pathetic history.  Aw what the hell. At 40yrs old why do I really care.  He mentioned that this thread has 8000 views, I had never really thought about it.  Hope it has helped or entertained some of them along the way.

Anyway he basically said he has done a good job, and I need to lose more weight.  I agree.  On my way.  Next appointment is on the one year anniversary of my first surgery. Picture go up then.  I should be about 190 by then.

I don't know what has come over me.

Not sure if it is a touch of a mid-life crisis, or the anticipation of a skinny, fit, boobless summer for the first time but......I am locked in on my weight loss and exercise routing.

I have been counting and tracking my calories on my Itouch, and I never miss a workout. I read articles about training and dieting tips, and I am having fun doing it.  In the gym every day, 5am, and banging down protein like it was water in the desert.

Has been this way for about two months now.  Hoping it stays this way, can't see it ending.

Six weeks later and still going at is strong.  More motivated than ever.

Back to see Jacobs in three weeks.  Think that will be my final.

My chest looks good, it's the waistline that needs the work.

So I had a few moments to myself today (a rarity) so I figured I would give my old favorite site a spin.  Been a long time since I have been here.

Since surgery in April 2008, life has completely changed, not all due to surgery but it is a major part of it.

Funny how life works.....I got the surgery then about a year later I got divorced...perfect.  Divorce is never fun, but with the ex and I civil to each other the kids are great and I am enjoying the single life.

Turns out the surgery was just what I needed.  It gave me the confidence to live a single life I never had in my 20s.  I was not afraid to approach, touch, or get naked with any woman.  The past year has been without question the most fun I have ever had, and it would have been possibly the worst had I gone into it with my G.

A couple women have asked about my scars (needed two surgeries as mine as severe and my age), but I have used several different lies (pec surgery, non cancerous growth removal), and even the truth, no one has cared.

My only advice to all you considering the surgery.....do your doc homework. The only difference it seems on this site between happy post op patients and sad is the aptitude of the surgeon.

Thanks Doc J!!!
