Some pics of me pre op

http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/chorltongyne/album?.dir=/3814&.src=ph&.tok=phDydfCB91z77qNa

I home the link works.

These first lot of pics were taken the night before surgery.   I stuck in some pics of me with cloths on just so you could see what they looked like.  At some angles it does not look to bad but it is hard to get the world to look at you from that one angle ain't it!!

Yeah I know (in Little Britain type Voice LOL) - I need to shed a few pounds.  Its all in hand.  I lost over a stone in the two month run up to xmas and plan to shed another stone.  It did make a difference to the size of the boobs but not as much as the surgery has done.

Im actually worried about sleeping on my back,  I am by nature a very restless sleeper.  I was speaking to my mum and she said putting a pillow under your knees helps for sleeping on your back, dunno if it works but ill give (almost) anything a try once  ;)

THanks a lot for the pics.  Im probably a little bit larger than you or at least the same.

One question, I train a lot now 3 days weights, 4 days cardio.  I know im not going to be able to do weights for a while or even much cardio. The quiestion,  how do you feel for walking,  are you tired quickly or anything? Im thinking ill would like to  get out for 2-3 mile walks per day for the first couple of weeks, a few days after the op.

Thanks

RRB,

I want to start training to do a Marathon so that training will be about 5-6 days a week.  For the last the first two days I have found that I have been very tired.  Yesterday we went shopping and the walking really tired me out but not as much as the first two days.  My wife is off with me today but we are going shopping again (new cloths for me) so I should be out for a few hours again.  For the rest of the week I plan on doing a few miles walking to keep up the exercise.  It should be ok.  The only thing is that yesterday later in the day my chest started to feel heavy as I had been up right for some  time.  I do not want to do anything to jeopidise the op.  I will let you know how the walk goes tomorrrow.

Has anyone else got any advise?

Listen to your body matey. You have had a fairly serious operation and it'll take you some time to recuperate and your body is not going to be able to deal with other things like it used to.

I reckon you'd be able to start training at about 8 weeks and be training pretty hard at about 13-15 weeks, including pounding the streets.

Everyone is different though so honestly listen to your body and you won't go far wrong.

All the best Chorlton and welcome to breastlessness. It rules. ;D

Congratulations Chorlton.

Marathon eh? Sounds like the op has given you a real spring in your step. I've done some half marathons but never got past 17 miles when training for the big one (knees packed in).  I would suggest that you spend some time, once recovered, building your miles up very slowly to get your excess weight off, before you start doing longer runs. Any excess weight when you do a lot of road running can be bad for your knees. You also need to take in a serious amount of calories when you are marathon training so it can be difficult to guage how much to eat if you are also wanting to shift a bit of weight: you may not eat enough to train properly. Just my opinion, I'm sure there are plenty of others but as Ste says "Listen to your body". I'm thinking of trying for a marathon again in a couple of years but I'm gonna make sure I'm not carrying anything extra (could probably do with shifting 1.5-2 stone) this time.

The great news is that you'll be able to wear some flash running top now and not have to strategically place your running number to hide your gyne, like I always do (soon to be did!)

Hope the Norfolk Inn wasn't too bad after I suggested it.

Thanks for the pics- looking forward to the 'Afters'. Not as much as you I bet...

Merv.

Hi All,

Just a quick question for any one who has been through surgery already.  I am finding that the muscle is tight under my arm and I do not have a full stretch yet when I raise my arm.  Does this get better with time?  Should I be doing some exercise to increase the stretching?

Also I am due to stop wearing my compression vest tomorrow (it has been 3 weeks).  Did you take it off then? or did you wait longer.  I am still getting twinges and pins and needles on my chest when I do not wear it.  I have had the vest off on a couple of occassions (and it felt so good under a tee shirt!).

When I first took my bandages off my chest was well flat but with time it is taking on a very nice shape.  I was a bit panicky at first about it but people on here have said it improves with time.

Also I have lumps under my armpits.  They are going down.  Will these go away?

I am still happy with the overall results todate.  I have a visit to Levicks office on 7th Mar for a check up.

I did take some pics when I took my bandages off but have not yet posted them. I hope to do it this week.

How is everyone else doing?

How does it look then.

You could probably go and have the fluid removed some where local.

Let us know what levick says.

Nipple area is seriously indented, swollen but not bad just above where the bandages came off.  Hardly any bruising at all and no nipple discolouration, overall im well chuffed.

That picture is amazing! Congrats.

In fact, they all look great. These results are particularly encouraging considering you were a slightly larger case (although not huge, by any means). I'd be massively encouraged if I was someone who had been previously about your size/shape.
