DIM...Anyone heard of it?

Hi

I've recently had surgery and although my hormones have since been checked been given the all clear, Im a little bit concerned over my estradiol level, which is I believe is slightly elevated. As such Im looking to bring it down, although I dont think I require prescription drugs such as tamoxifen etc.

A fellow board member recently highlighted a natural supplement called DIM (Diindolylmethane) and I must say I was intrigued. It is substance derived from cruciferous vegetables e.g broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and promotes healthy estrogen metabolism in both men and women.

What do you guys know about it? And has anyone used it?

Hypo recommended that I show it to my endo and discuss whether or not I should take it.  I know that hypo takes it to lower his estradiol level, since he has hypogonadism.

I have considered taking DIM to balance my estradiol level (I have 37 estradiol and 424 Testosterone) but my endocrinologist did not recommend it since I am only 18.  To re-iterate what hypo has advised me, I would not take anything without first consulting my endocrinologist.

On a side note, I've checked out your post-op photos and I only hope that I can have results like yours.  May I ask your current height and weight?
