  • Wilma, grab the lotion, we're going to the beach!
depends on your condition. Are you fat or gland?

Mine was probably 50/50. looked alot better when I lost weight, much less fat, but the gland was still there.

I'd be so depressed after my effort to look better did not completely get ride of my gyne that I quit training and got fat again....and the cycle continues.

I had surgery 3 years ago and have gained weight, and a little fat in the chest, but the gland is gone for good and I have absolutely no problem wearing a t-shirt or going shirtless.

O'h the freedom.

Grandpa Bampu,

I have probably seen a million posts of you saying weight loss does not help. I know you are a senior blogger here, but lets just clarify a few things here:

There are obviously 2 things in a man boob: FAT and GLAND

When I say weightloss helps. i dont mean that it makes the ENTIRE PROBLEM disappear - I say it helps the FAT component. Which for SOME people can be substantial (even if u think its not)

However, I agree 100% with you that surgery is the only way to get rid of GLAND.

But stop shooting ppl down when they ask for some hope through weightloss - It DOES HELP (even if it doesnt take the problem away entirely)

yes indeed.. i agree with the dude above me. i just had surgery last week tuesday and my chest is looking pretty good right now. but i would be even better if i had lost weight before the surgery. yes i do understand that losing weight does not help your gyno go down. it does help in the long run because you will be few steps ahead if you do decide to get the surgery. me.. i stopped working out because i was losing weight everywhere except my chest. but now i wish i would have kept going hard losing weight and not have stopped. so with that being said you guys keep working out even if it makes your chest look worst. it is healthy and will be better for you in the future ;)

It will look a little smaller but once you lose that belly, your moobs are gonna pop out more. When I lost weight, my breasts were more noticable, so I gained the weight back.

That is one of the main reasons why so many G guys are obese... I was the same way... :-\

GB

I think you have that in reverse

Over the years, I've noticed my moobs enlarge, and shrink, in complete synchronicity with fat gain, and fat loss. In June 2006 I weighed 211 lbs., and my moobs were fuller, pointier, and generally larger. Currently, I weigh around 166 (with considerable added muscle mass relative to June 2006) and they are much smaller. I attribute this to fat (adipose tissue) loss in my pectoral region; the dreaded gland, however, has likely not changed it's shape at all. I suppose this provides some evidence that a significant portion of my gynecomastia - perhaps even 40%-60%, was/is adipose tissue.

I look forward to having these glands removed in the summer. I'm also working on lowering my body fat % down even more. It'll be interesting to observe how my moobs look with a lower overall body fat %. I'm hoping for around 7-10% by surgery time. Cheer me on!
