Hey Braveboy,

I was at the great wolf lodge, fantastic waterpark, had a great time with the kids... As tempting as it is, I could never dare to say anything to a stranger about gyne, plus, it would really suck if someone took it the wrong way. Maybe we could just walk around with Dr. Lista's business card and just casually drop them near people who might benefit from his sevices  ;D

hey dondante,

now that you're about 2 months post-op, how are your results looking?  how's the scar tissue situation?

i ask b/c like you, i had a great result post-op, but the swelling has taken away some of the optimism 2 weeks later... and scar tissue has set in definitely

Hey monsterclean,

I'll be coming up on 3 months post-op next week, and I've got to say that there are still changes happening at this stage of the game. My scar tissue is definitely still present, though it doesn't feel as prominent as it did as far back as a month ago. When I raise my arms straight up, I can see the outline of the scar tissue underneath my skin. I read a recent post recommending organic castor oil as a rub for scar tissue so I bought some today to experiment with it. Keep in mind, I'm doing it because I'm curious.. I'm pretty happy with the way my chest is looking now, and Dr. Lista told me it could take up to a year for me to see the final result. Does it look completely flat like it did that first day post op? No. Will it ever? I'm not sure. Do I care? Not really at this point because I have normal looking chest.

Braveboy put it best when he wrote to me that the hard work really begins in the post-op period, and he's absolutely right. Keep your optimism up, massage the scar tissue, and consult with Dr. Lista about any of your concerns. Most of all: settle in and be patient. I know its hard, I REALLY do, I was completely obsessive compulsive about my op and result for the first month after my op. Try not to be, it won't get you anywhere.

Hey dondante,
You said you went swimming 4 weeks post-op.

How far along were you when your stitches came out?  I know they are supposed to just dissolve, but i'm nearly 3 weeks post-op and they ar still there.

If you look to the side of chest, just above my ribcage, you will see 1 reddish spot on each side. That's the scar from the incision.

Oh so how come yours was not the incision along the bottom of the areolar? Do some surgeons do this differently?
BTW looks incredible man.

Thanks for the compliment, man. I expressly chose my surgeon, Dr. Lista, because his technique involves removing the glandular element of my gyne through the same incision that he uses to perform the lipo. He basically uses these modified scissors, that he uses to cut the gland up, then uses this modified tong-type instrument to pull the gland out. I'm sure there are other surgeons who perform this surgery this way, I'm just not sure who else does. The technique of areola incision is far more common, though.

dondante,

do you do play any sports?....i was just wondering how long the recovery period would be before you could resume playing any sports (hockey, baseball, basketball etc.)  I've read that you can resume working out about a month after surgery and i'm just wondering if the same would apply to going back to playing anything???

I play soccer in the summer, so I can't tell you how it would have felt to play soccer a month after surgery since it was still dead winter here in February. I can say, though, that I while I could swim, walk and do weights a month after surgery, my chest still felt too sensitive to jog until about the 2 month mark.

I also had surgery with Dr. Lista.  I'm nearly 4 weeks post op and have started playing basketball again.  (not very competitive, mostly pickup)

Monsterclean, Dondante...

I'm 10 days post-op with Dr Lista. Boy am I glad I chose to go with him !  My healing couldn't go better, I have practically no swelling. I wear the vest and I massage 30 minutes a day.

Just felt like sharing my enthousiasm...;)

I just made a new thread about my surgery in Las Vegas.  My doctor used this method as well.  I was pretty relieved that I wouldn't have an incision around my areola.  Just if anyone is wondering, my surgeon was Dr. Cambeiro in Las Vegas.

I'm on day 2 and proceeding quite nicely.

Ontario resident here and considering the surgery... As a graduate student my budget is still fairly limited. I've seen in a thread about Dr. Fielding that it cost another member $2100 for the surgery. Just wondering what the ballpark cost was for going with Dr. Lista? I'm by no means trying to cheap out on the procedure, just trying to figure how much I should be looking to budget and if it is financially feasible at this point in my life. Probably the most frustrating part of the whole experience is sticking to proper exercise and diet, seeing great results everywhere else, but having these disproportionately large breasts that never change.
