One week after surgery - leaky nipple

Hi friends,

I had my surgery a week ago today, and I'm feeling great.  Already riding my bike, went out dancing last night, to the beach.  I have almost no pain and I stopped taking the pain killers after three days.  I am very happy with my result so far, just excited for when the swelling goes down and my nipples are no longer black and blue.

Quick question for those of you who have had the surgery before: did you have leaky nips?

I change the dressings cover my nipples every morning and night, and one of my nipples leaks, sort of a lot.  not like a dab of blood on the bandage, but like, half the bandage is red.  Did anyone else experience this sort of leakage?  I had drains, but they were taken out after three days.

I had surgery about a week ago but I have not seen a single drop of blood since I got my IV put in. You might want to talk to your doctor.
