Hi,

I am now almost 10 weeks post op and still concerned with the surgery's results. Pictures are attached.

My left side definitely has a crater deformity which I have pretty much learned to except (the doctor says that it will fill out with fatty tissue over time) as when I have a T-shirt or jumper on it's hardly noticeable.

My right side looked perfect after surgery but then filled up with fluid. Once it had drained it looks pretty much normal but then it seemed to swell up and hasn't came down any (or a very little amount) in the past 4 weeks. It appears that it is just the top half that is swollen, and that this is leading to a slight overlap where my nipple is. This is very noticeable when I wear a T-shirt or jumper.

My question is that, after 10 weeks, is this likely to be what I am left with, or could it simply be a matter of swelling that will go down to the way it was after surgery? Is it more likely that they have left too much tissue in the top halfs of both sides (one making it look like a crater due to excess tissue at the upper-half of the pec, and the other simply looking like its bigger due to excess tissue of the whole chest).

Also, How likely is it that the crater will fill out?

Thanks in advance....

My take from the pictures is that you still look pretty swollen on the top half of your chest.Maybe you should ring the doctor who performed the surgery and explain to him about your situation

I agree with above. Usually in case where there is swelling and scar tissue and post-op people are worried that not enough was taken out, patience is in order to give the body time to heal. I'm not sure if that is also the case when it looks like too much was taken out from the onset.
