Hey guys,

I'm in my sixth week of recovery and I've been applying neosporin to my incisions at the suggestion of my PS, mostly to keep them moisturized.  But I'm wondering if anyone has had good experiences with any other products, particularly those aimed at reducing the appearance of scars more quickly than neosporin?

Maderma is pretty good, not too expensive.  Try amazon.com.

I googled it, looks pretty interesting.  Might try it.

Thanks

Neosporin is an antibiotic, vaseline based ointment.  It is useful for fresh wounds and to keep a wound moist.

I generally tell my patients to stop the Neosporin (or the like) after two weeks and switch to any of the following:

Vit E cream (or Vit E oil -- take a capsule, cut it and apply the oil to the scars)
Mederma
Scar Guard

They all help the scar to settle down, keep it moisturized and in general do a good job.
