Hey all, here are my first pics with the dressing removed. The steric-strips are still in place over the scar, for another week, but you can see through them to get an idea of what the scars look like at this early stage.

Here are some pictures up close of the nipple area. The third picture here shows the scar from the incision Dr. Bermant made near the arm-pit area.

actually the extra incision was to remove gland if i remember correctly. Apparently on that side of the chest, the gland was small enough that he thought he could liposuction it. But this did not work as it was too firm, so he made a small incision in the areola and tried to take it out. But the gland was positioned vertically ( which is atypical), and so he made another very small incision site ( the extra one you see) to remove it. Apparently though, the length of the incision from that spot + the incision he made on the areola is the same as the incision made on the areola on the other side of the chest.

pains totally fine- he gives a script for 20 vicodins. I took 1 vicodin and maybe 6 tylenol so far. I don't like the feeling of pain pills, and get bad ups and downs taking them, so I tossed the rest before leaving VA.

For my surgical sculpture, a remote site is typically for managing fat. Liposuction does not manage gland. I rarely need an extra incision by the armpit. When possible I prefer to avoid the extra scar. However when the fat is too dense, the option is to extend the incision at the edge of the areola or add one at a remote site.  It has been several years since I have needed such a remote incision for my gynecomastia contouring.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Looks good ! The gland didn't seem to big but I guess that every case is different and was most of the gynecomastia caused by chest wall fat ?

Wow! Awesome story. I'm amazed at your decisiveness. You've made a huge change and it looks great! I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and had a similar looking case, but I had a little more swelling and bruising than you. It looks remarkable!

I'm not sure what type of fat it was, but yeah, it was mostly fat removed and little gland. Of the gland removed, there was more on one side than another.

The pain is minimal, and I have full range of motion. The chest tissues still feel pretty firm though, so I'll probably hold off on light workout for a few weeks. But I have been running...
