Post op 6 days and there are areas that feel 'firmer' than normal fat or tissue. Is this normal?

After surgery, the body goes through a predictable series of healing events, all of which are scripted by Mother Nature.

The presence of diffuse firmness of the chest frequently occurs -- usually 1-2 weeks after the surgery itself.

Relax, this is normal -- but it will take weeks to months for it to soften up -- that is the normal healing process.  And the feeling/sensation will slowly return to the skin and nipples as well -- it roughly correlates with the resolution of the firmness that you feel.
