Sparta,

You need to strongly consider a circumcision to correct the phimosis.  It is the surgical correction for that problem, and hopefully your insurance in the UK will cover it.  Retraction of the foreskin for cleaning purposes is very important.  And you're obviously having problems with intercourse because of it as well.  Circumcision is commonplace in the US, and the vast majority of men in the US are circumcised.  In the UK, however, it's the opposite.  Maybe that's why you're reluctant to do it; it's not at all common in the UK.  But the phimosis is something that needs to be corrected.

You seem to be pretty hung up on that problem as well as the gynecomastia, and both are correctable with surgery.  And at age 27, your reluctance to have a physician examine your penis is a little ridiculous.

By the way, cancer of the penis, which is rare, is usually only found in uncircumcised penises, and it's thought to be related to years of poor hygiene.  Phimosis prevents good hygiene.  Sounds like you need to stop procrastinating.

My parents are from the UK. Manchester, England to be exact. Both my brother and I are uncircumcised... Why is it that circumcision is common place in North America and not in the UK?

x2...

Dude, your penis is nothing to be embarrassed of. It's just another body part after all is said and done...  ;)

Hey Sparta

Just wanted to let u know i know how u feel. I too suffered from having a tight foreskin, after countless rubbish and painful
sex sessions with my then gfriend i decided enough was enough and went to the docs. Yes i was nervous and a little embarrased
but trust me the docs see loads of these parts every day, they wont batter an eyelid. He told me straight away i needed a circumcision
and it got booked! The op was scary but i can honestly say it was the best thing i have ever done, once recovered i was like a new man!
I can honestly say i would not have had the fun that ive had over the past few yrs if i hadnt got it done cos i used to dread sex, im no
brad pitt mate but theres always opportunities out there with women but uve probs stopped looking cos u know ull have to stop b4
it gets to the bedroom. thats no way to live life pal, trust me. I really think you should go to ur docs and start the ball rolling.

I also have gyno, i think its pretty bad and eventually plucked up the courage to do summit about it, im booked in with Dr. Karidis
in april. Again yes im dreading it and i certainly couldnt afford the 4k but i didnt wanna be on my death in many yrs to come and have
regrets..im not expecting a miracle chest outta this but anything has to be better than what i currently have!

Sorry for going on a bit bit i thought id share my thoughts with you mate cos i kinda could relate to what your saying

Anyway good luck mate!

if you are British citizen in uk then you will get a circ on NHS for medical reasons deffo.
About showing your male thingy to a doc... get real man, they see peoples bodies every day!
Go to a female doc if you feel more comfortable. I do!
Sounds like you really need this op so please go see a doc asap. you can worry about the gyne later.

Agreed.  How can you get help if you won't seek it out.  Phimosis can be fixed.  A urologist fixed my phimosis when I was a little kid and didn't have to circumcise.  You've gotta grow some cojones here.

been a long time since i started this thread. seems like it anyway. i have still be reading the forums now and then, and a thread by bikkembergs made me think i should post again

i got a circumcision in the summer. apart from being awkward for a week or two it was quite straight forward and i wish i got it done years ago

as for my gyno, well i still have it. been working for about 9 months though and currently has about 3 grand saved up so hopefully will get surgery next year sometime. ideally before the summer if possible

good reading some of the successful threads you guys have had with your surgery. i will probably try and go with karadis when i book

Hey Sparta...

Glad to hear that you got your Phimosis corrected.

Sounds like you are well on your way to get your Gyne corrected also... Good for you dude! Keep plugging away at it... You'll soon see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Wow, it's been a while since I've been on Gyne.org! Has got to be a year or two... Just got an email notification of you posting in this thread so I thought that I'd make an appearance.

It's coming up on my 7 year anniversary of having my Gyne surgery. Had surgery in February 2005... Geeze, 7 years! How time flies huh? Still very happy with surgery results and no reoccurrence.

Well, all the best to you over the holidays my friend!!!

I had the same problem. I simply streched my foreskin twice a day while using a special steroid cream my doc prescribed. I was able to retract my foreskin in about 4 weeks. Since you already got the circumcision done, it's unfortunately to late
