over 18, not covered by OHIP?

Ok I'm located in Windsor On. I got a referral to Dr Sion, which was needed to get an initial appointment. http://www.cicatrixoptima.com/

About 30mins after I leave the walk in clinic where I got the referral they(clinic) call me back and tell me that because I'm over 18 the procedure is considered cosmetic and not covered under OHIP. I was under the impression after reading around these forum that the excision portion of the surgery was covered by OHIP and the liposuction(which I don't think I need, as its not really fat, but lumpy gyno) is not covered.

Anyone willing to provide any insight would be much appreciated.

Unless OHIP has changed policy, they cover excision at any age...

Give Doc Fielding's office a call 416.766.8890. You'll probably talk with Leslie, JCF's secretary. Ask Leslie if OHIP has recently imposed an age limit on Gynecomastic Excisions... She'd be more than happy to inform you one way or the other...
