Hi, I've had Gynecomastia for about 2 years right now I'm 16 and a late bloomer in puberty, I've went to see a doctor last month, he said I shouldn't worry about it and it'll resolve on its own..but I dunno, in the beginning I remember my nipples really hurt on every touch, now it doesn't anymore, there's just a tissue underneath the nipples, my left nipples slightly bigger then my right's.
Is there still a chance that it'll resolve on its own, or atleast decrease in size?
Or am I going to need surgery, which I'll take right away when I hit 18.

Hi,

Common case seen here on this site. Chances are, if you feel tissue under your nipples, you may have gynecomastia. If this is the case, then there is now way of "growing" out of it.

I've heard of many people waiting until they turn 18 to make their final decision.

Unfortunately, without photos, many individuals on this site are going to have a hard time telling you whether or not you may be suffering from this condition.

I have it, I went to the doctor, and he made these scans, he said I have a minor gynecomastia and it should go away on its own.
But knowing doctors, do I really have a chance on it going away on its own?

There is certainly no harm in waiting .... and hoping.  But usually, if it has been present and stable for two years or more, hoping won't make it go away.

The tenderness you had initially was evidence of growth -- now that the tenderness has subsided, the growth has probably subsided but the resultant tissue is yours forever most likely.

Its not been "stable" for 2 years, my nipples really hurt to the touch, for about 4 months, I think 6 months ago my right nipple decreased slightly in size, but nothing's changed anymore.
I've had it for a year and 9-10 months if I can remember correctly.
Sooo, I guess the only way out will be surgery I guess, is surgery an option for minors?

Sensitivity and breast growth are Symptoms of Gynecomastia gland stimulation. While under hormonal stimulation glands swell and grow. Once this stimulation stops, swelling can decrease to a degree. Residual growth can still be a problem. Puberty gynecomastia often does resolve on its own. What does not go away by 2 years, typically does not.  Waiting until the problem stabilize has potential value.

As I said, if the tissue has not disappeared (or started to disappear) by two years, then it will probably be permanent unless surgery is performed.

Ok thanks for help, I'll just wait till I hit 18 and if there hasn't been any change I'll get surgery.

It is encouraging that the breasts are getting smaller and are no longer painful.  If it were still painful, it may indicate some time of inflammatory / growth process.  Stay positive, there is no need for surgery at this time.  My advice would be to wait and see.
