Hey man, thanks for the input. Stuff ike that really does help me.....I guess a lot of concern is in my head. Im a guy who doesnt necessarily agree with plastic surgery (I dont get people going in to get their faces messed with and stuff) but when it comes to gyno thats obviously a different story!

I guess all Im hoping for is to know that after surgery I CAN have a normal chest. I guess there is a risk with everything....my biggest concern is having something I have to go back and get fixed over and over. Like I said, Im hoping this is a one off, glandular tissue gone and I can forget about pokey nipples and droopy breasts. If it takes work in terms of massaging, fine. Comprared to gyno thats a non-issue.

I dont expect to wake up and be looking at sculpted pecs. I think more than anything else I just want to know my chest will respond like a normal chest does. I dont expect to ever model or anything like that....but I would like to be physically normal with the opportunity to build a chest I can be proud of.

i know exactly what you mean, thats also a concern of mine.. like if i have surgery how i am now, then in later years gain more muscle on my chest, will it grow naturally, or will it look out of place. is that what you mean?

Yeah, Im thinking a pretty similar thing...although to be honest I dont see how surgery can do anything to affect normal muscle building. Unless you get some butcher who cuts the muscle or something.

I asked Dr. Karidis "After the surgery will I be able to go back to lifting weights and achieving normal muscle on my chest"?

His response exactly was "Absolutley, of course. But I cant give you everything, the hard work has to come from yourself".

I know of many bodybuilders who have had the surgery and it doesnt affect them in the slightest. Of course they are much more muscular than the average Joe, but the fact is that, in the most narcissistic of all sports, these guys have an operation and continue to compete and build muscle.

And this sums up my attitude to the surgery. Im not going into it expecting to come out with a body like brad pitt or a chest sculpted by the god's themselves. What I am expecting is removal of the gland and stubborn fat in such a way that a)My gyno will be gone and b) Will leave me with a normal chest. What happens after that (Buliding muscle, losing more fat etc) is up to me. I hear plenty of people saying that "you can only have the appearance of not having gyno"...I call BS on that. When the tissue is gone, the gyno is gone.

I will not go into the surgery and come out saying things like "he left some fat behind, Im going in for a revision" becasue I dont care about that. I can deal with the fat on my own through eating right and excercising. However there is nothing I can do about the gland which is what I hate the most, so as long as surgery takes care of it, Ill be happy. I lift weights and have been in great shape in the past, have lost all the fat on my body and still had puffy nipples and gland. Fat is fat and is something we can all tackle on our own. We need some help with the gland.

exactly :) that's the way you should look at it.

i was just thinking outside the box, like hes cutting it off you so you look normal how you are now, but will it look the same if you gain weight (whether its muscle or fat). kinda the same idea of getting a tattoo in an awkward place, its gonna look perfect when he draws it, but after a few years and weight gain/loss, it might look out of place..if you know what i mean? i suppose its just me being skeptical.

Had to put my surgery off until October today....got an opportunity to go on a work trip which, career wise, is a really good thing. Kinda dissapointed that im going to have to wait but im sure the wait will be worth it. And focusing on the positives itll give me more time to lose some weight before the op. He said this wasnt a big deal and wouldnt affect the outcome of the surgery but in my mind it makes sense to be in shape before the op.

Mate, I dont think weight gain/loss will affect things at all...except extreme weight gain. He's not cutting anything "off" you, hes removing tissue which makes things point out and doing some liop to remove stubborn fat. Like I said above, your chest will respond normally to these things. Underneath the gland its been responding you just havent been able to see it!

Hey guys,

I had to reschedule my surgery until the mid october so today i'm about 6 weeks from surgery. Basically, I havent dropped as much weight as I wanted too. I still have time but I wanted to be in great shape going into the surgery to give myself the best results and to do this I would need longer than I now have.

Ive posted up some pics below. Am I too overweight to get an optimal result? I will be pushing hard in the next few weeks to lose more fat.

Let me know what you guys think;

Should I go ahead and get surgery or should I put it off until the new year?

Thanks all

think i was bigger than you when i had mine i certainly had much bigger breasts. He left me a with flat chest and a large stomach to work on, still trying to sort that out now lol. I've read your earlier posts and I wouldn't agree that the fat can be worked off if he can remove the gland. You probably need a mixture of both gland and lipo. Mine was mostly fat but when I was  27 I'd dropped down to ny ideal weight and about 16% fat and i still had a pair of breasts bigger than my girlfriends at the time. Good luck, of course for lots of reasons you should be slimmer but it wont affect the result you're in good hands.

Thanks for the reply and input mate.

Your right, for general health reasons I would like to be slimmer but its a work in progress :)

So you dont think carrying a bit of extra fat will affect the results of the surgery? I ask becasue ive been told he "sculpts" the area, isnt this harder to do if your a bit chubby?

Also, why do you feel that the fat cant be removed through diet and excercise (Not being confrontation, genuinely would like your opinion)?

Thanks mate

Once the glands removed, thats it! If you start dropping weight then your chest fat will follow

its harder to remove fat because it attaches itself to the gland, sort of like stubborn fat! Being at a low weight give the inital "Wow" factor so after surgery your left flat with a flat stomach. Its sort of a good self healing thing but i wouldnt disparage someone from your size from having surgery because your body will shed the weight equally (once the gland is removed)

All i will say is dont aim for perfection people have the op and expect the world, karidis will make you look normal! Eat healthily go down the gym a few times a week and just take it step by step.

No I don't think it would affect the results and more importantly Dr. Karidis didn't when I asked him that specific question. Not too sure about Todd's post and the fat attaching to gland thing I haven't heard that one before. Some men and women for that matter are predisposed to depositing fat in certain areas e.g breasts, love handles etc a friend of mine has a large ass he's shed 4 stone and still has a large ass. For me if I put weight on the fat went straight to my chest if I lost weight the chest area was the very last to show any improvement. If you lose 20lbs you will look better and shed some fat from that area but I'd wager you will still have a female like contour and when the rest of you is slim you might find it is more obvious.

I'd didn't have a lot of gland tissue 18g but a hell of a lot of fat ( he removed a pint from each side). Obviously you are trying to lose the weight for surgery which is a good thing but if you don't I wouldn't postpone the surgery.

Thanks guys, thats a huge boost for me.

I had thought that I was putting the result of my surgery at a compromise but not being as lean as possible before the surgery. I would like to be...but life gets in the way.

I do intend to lose weight and have been pretty lean in the past. The condition was still there so I know I have it and it wont make much of a difference. Not long now until im done with it forever though!

4 weeks exactly until surgery!

I have to say, I am really looking forward to it! A few small nerves here and there but for the most part its sheer excitement.

Very interesting thread! Good luck with your surgery mate, hope all goes well!

I have just been accepted to have the surgery on the NHS, but from reading posts on here i'm so sceptical. I am now thinking of going with Karidis, even though i would rather have it for free than pay 4k, the outcome is the main thing!

Hey brother, thanks for the kind wishes. I have read so many great threads on this site and I wouldnt be in the position I am now without them so I wanted to give something back. I will keep updating this thread as I go along, I know how valuable I found them when making up my mind and I would like to help others along their journeys.

With regards to the NHS, I cant really give much advice.

I only want to do this once and am "electing" to get this surgery. By that I mean, my condition isnt severe enough that I couldnt live with it. It bothers me and has attracted some comments from others, but for the most part its minimal compared to some I have seen. i have had stunning girlfriends, have a great job and have led a pretty great life all things considered so far. However, regardless of all this, I decided I wanted the surgery......it affects my life in other ways (the clothes I wear, motivation to work out and be healthy, self consciousness the first time a girl sees me with my shirt off etc). I genuinely think with a surgeon like Karidis, anything will be an improvement. I dont expect the world e.g-sculpted pecs, but I do think he will give me a normal male chest which will respond as a normal chest does....this is a big deal for me as I have some serious plans to change my physique.

I have gotten very lean in the past and still my chest didnt look right (this was when I thought it was something which could be worked off). I have a trip to the beach in a couple months and dont want to be pinching my nipples and feeling awkward about my chest when I go....I have spent summers and holidays like that and it is not good. Wasted years and time I wont get back. The most noticeable thing was the gland, like I said, very lean but with puffy nipples and a slight femine contour. I can tell from feeling the area that the glan is quite large and I will be stressing that to Karidis before surgery. I know he is an expert and will undoubtedly pick up on this but letting him know will make me feel better :)

I think it depends on your personal situation and how soon you can get the money. If it will be years before you will be in a position to get the surgery and the condition severly affects your life, maybe the NHS route would be best. Losing time becasue of moobs is time you wont get back. I am fortunate enough where I have the money and live in the same city as Karidis.

My mum will also be there after the surgery. A few months ago I got up the guts to tell her about what I was going through....I was embarrased, ashamed (Why?) and even felt something like a sense of guilt (again, why?). She and my dad have been so supportive since then, even lending me 1K to get the surgery done. I still havent been able to talk about it with my dad so she kinda acts like my messenger through it all.....again those feelings of shame come flooding through. But he knows I am having the surgery and wont bring it up, probably becasue he knows how awkward I feel about it. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful people as family and I would honestly advise anyone who hasnt, to let their parents know what theyre going through.

Anyway, another long post to clear my head. Im sure there will be more :) The countdown to surgery is on!

Hope everyone is well

Paid the remainder of the money owed for surgery today and will be going for bloods tomorrow. Then there's nothing to do but count the days......

2 weeks tomorrow and its done. I havent felt any nerves for a while now which is odd, I think ive played out all the scenarios and options in my head and im just ready to get it done.
