Regd Seroma, Bro, sabi ng surgeon na nagtanggal sa stitches ko, seroma is present pag di matigas ang operative site. pag walang seroma daw, mahina yung turgor. most likely, pag matigas yung operative sight, swelling lang yan. also, pag matindi daw yung seroma, dapat talagang e drain daw.

trex,

Sa opinion ko lang, immediate post-op, i think pwede eto para walang hollow areas for seroma formation. but in the long run, accdg. kay Dr. Silverman, snug even compression daw kc magkaroon daw ng deformity sa area na may added compression. I think he meant baka mag depress yung area.

@poorguy23: Accdg to the plastic surgeons I communicated to, the price range is somewhere between P45k-65k, depending upon the severity of the case. Yung advantage kay doc benny, he is very liberal on the price. in my case, he offered the lowest price and as far as i've known, he has the most number of cases in doing this type of surgery. kumbaga, you have the best of both worlds. Bro, as early as 24 weeks post-op at namaga pa yung chest ko, just like what the others are telling you in this forum, it's all worth the pain & money. Hope this helps. good luck!

@kongking, ok naman bro. actually tama yung sabi ng mga doctor, yung depression/indentation above my left areola is getting better as i am healing. yung problema ko naman yung sa right areola, nag-overlap sa skin tissue beneath it by a few millimeters. very obvious, bro.nagtanong na ako sa supporting doctors, sabi nila after 6 months or so, pag di nag sit well yung scar, dapat mag scar revision. Im praying this will resolve as i heal more otherwise... scar revision. sabagay, minor operation lang naman daw eto compared sa corrective surgery.

poorguy - 50 to 60K on average, i believe.  But I think it really depends on the severity of your case.  Best would be for you to schedule a consultation with dr. herbosa and do some research prior to your consultation so that you'll know what specific questions to ask.  Also, if I have one advice to offer you, that would be : buy a good elastic compression garment / bandage.

trex,

hope your wound heals well and you won't need to go back for a revision.  Yung sa akin may swelling pa rin around the surgical site for both sides of my chest.  Waiting parin magsubside.

Wala ng sumasakit pag gumagalaw ako, except for Overhead arm movements nalang.

Will post 2 months post op pics after my upcoming check up with doc herbosa.

Mga sir, congrats po sa inyong lahat!

Im 18 years old right now 2nd year college. ang hirap mabuhay in this situation. Im planning to have surgery pero I guess mahihirapan talaga ako mag pa surgery. tuloy tuloy kasi ang studies ko ngayon, so tuloy tuloy rin yung gastos sa school, medyo sakto lang kasi yung budget ng pamilya ko. And if ever naman na mag pa surgery ako sa tingin ko magsstop talaga ako sa pagaaral for a year or more dahil nga for the recovery time. Im just sharing this and hopefully get your opinions or thoughts about my situation.

As for the recovery time, hindi mo kailangan mag stop ng schooling para mag recover after ng surgery.

# of weeks post surgery:
1 : stitches removed
4: stopped wearing compression garment / binder.  normal day to day activity nagagawa ko na. may konting kirot lang from time to time (for example, nalubak ako during driving).

Plano ko mag intense weight lifting by the end of my 3rd month post surgery.  As of now, i do leg workouts na.  I tried doing incline dumbell presses, i felt no pain, but ayaw ko paring i risk, so wait parin til after 3 months.

NOTE: Every week after having surgery, i felt significant improvement in my strength and mobility, especially 4 weeks after having surgery, when I was allowed to remove my chest binder.

hope this helps.

@kongking: actually, tama yung sinabi mo nung last posting mo, about 6 weeks post-op ka yata nun na 85% of your strength bumabalik. sa observation ko ngayon na 3 weeks post-op, there are times during the day na nanghihina ako. ganito talaga eto siguro pag post-op. naka binder pa rin ako pero di na 24/7. pag may arm movements, medyo may pain pa rin. thanks for posting the timeline, bro. it helps.

trex,

try mo parin isuot yung binder 24/7. halos lahat ng doctors dito sa forum advice is to wear the binder at least 4 weeks.  3 weeks post op check up ko kay doc benny, he told me na ok na results ko, and that I can stop wearing the binder, but I continued to wear it for 1 more week, and I really feel that doing so helped my recovery a lot.  Til now, when i get the opportunity, i still wear the binder when i go to bed.

rest as much as you can until 4 weeks post op.  avoid mo rin arm movements, and doing anything that leads to pain in the surgery area.

And also iwasan mong mabunggo o matamaan yung surgical site.  Yung left chest ko ang ganda na sana ng healing, mga 4 weeks palang halos wala ng swelling and wala na rin akong makapa na matigas na parang scar tissue. but then accidentally nasiko yung left chest ko one night, the following morning nagka lump na medyo may katigasan.  up to now hindi parin nawawala

Do a search on youtube about "San Francisco Gynecomastia Male Reduction Surgery". Its a very good documentary about the journey of 3 men who had gynecomastia and undergone very successful surgeries to get rid of their problem.  Enjoy!
