Better standards for doctor selection/ratings

There are hundreds of surgeons performing gyne reduction, almost all of whom have websites and claim to be the best.  But how are we patients to rate the quality of doctors?  Word of mouth referrals are limited our friends' knowledge of local surgeons.  Google searching is a terrible way to find good doctors, since the best doctors may not be buying google ad $s to be listed at the top. 

We should think of developing a comprehensive rating to measure how good these surgeons are.  All of these guys are board certified, that's a competetive necessity not a competetive advantage in this field.  I have deveised a list of criteria, and would love to discuss a more comprehensive rating system with others if interested.
