okay so i'm 18 and go to community college as of now. I'm hoping to get surgery in the next couple months if insurance covers it and i wanted to know what to tell my friends my surgery was for when i get it. I dont want to tell them that i got what i got, i wanted to lie and just say like i got work on my shoulder done or something to save myself the embarrasment. What should i say i had surgery on that i wouldnt have to prove?

I didn't tell my friends I had surgery and simply told them I pulled a muscle in my back to explain why I couldn't exercise for a few weeks.
It worked like a charm.

Alternatively you could also say you had some benign tumors removed from your chest.

Good luck with your surgery.

You can also just say "it's personal".. Most people will leave it at that. Or you might even get so excited you will tell them... That happened to me :D

Well really I said I used to be way fatter and had some extra skin (which is true, albeit a white lie about the underlying condition).

broken ribs:) however if they see scars on your chest say you had a benign tumor removed from your chest(which is technically true)

Saying you had a tumor removed is actually a lie.

It would be honest to say you had a growth removed.

Most people neither need nor deserve any explanation.

You could tell them you pulled something in your back (or a herniated disc perhaps?).  That could explain away the vest as a means of back support, and also explain why you can't lift anything heavy or do a lot of activities.  You'll have pain meds, so that fits too.  Easy peasy.  Or...to quote the wise Ace Ventura...you can politely tell everyone, "That's none of your damn business, and I'll thank you for staying out of my personal affairs!".  LOL!  ;D

I might suggest the back thing......
Shakenbake baby, SHAKE N BAKE!!  Ya, that just happened.
