i'm not too sure how my chest looks as i've not taken off the compression vest off. i'll take some pics tomorrow evening after i have a shower.

here are some pics i took with compression vest on after i came back home.

Congratulations zm and I'm glad it all went well and its all looking good.

How was the GA?  This is what I'm really nervous about so how did this feel?  When you woke up was it as though you were asleep for a couple of minutes?  Do you wake up naturally or do they give you a couple of slaps?

Sorry for all the questions but i'm having one of those nervous days, where I am starting to think about GA.

dexs, i know EXACTLY what you are going through bro..and right now, i feel pretty stupid for feeling that way.  The anesthetist came in asked me if i am allergic for any medicine and if i have any medical history.

he then applied local anesthetic on the top of my left hand which felt cold..then a few seconds later i notice a cannula. i didn't even feel a thing when needle going in.

The nurse then asked me to hold the oxygen gas mask over my mouth and nose and took in about 5-6 breaths. A few seconds later, the anesthetist injected the the good stuff... he said i'm going to feel light headed twice...

Then next thing i know is that i'm in recovery. i woke up slowly unlike some who just wake up spontaneously. so no slaps needed..lol..

pharmejoe, i think i'm going to take off dressing tomorrow after shower but will double check. if anyone who has had surgery can shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated and also, are you allowed to sleep on your back or with your back leaning against the headboard?

I could not sleep as wink. After doing some research it appears the pain killer Tremadol is the cause. Not in any kind of pain as such but just sore. Tremadol is also making having a pee an effort. No bowel bowel movement either since yesterday morning. By now I should have been 3 times. I know too much info but hoping it will help others. Lol

Well done for yesterday mate! It was a breeze wasn't it?!  ;D
We must have been in the rooms next to each other, along with Draksus! Hope all is well with the first 'reveal' and good luck with recovery.

Thanks mate. Karidis  probably operated on about 5 people yesterday.

When you had shower which plasters did you take off and replace?

Also, have you taken off the big bandage? I'm thinking of putting this back on as I'm hoping this will help with skin tightening?

Yeah he told me he was in theatre all day yesterday...must have been raking it in!

I took off the vest, and put it in the washing machine. Then I literally took everything off that was on and threw at all away. (Gauze and tape etc. I didn't have a big bandage on).

All I did then was add 4 of the op-site plasters (which are supposed to be waterproof) and had my shower, being careful not to get the incision sites/plasters wet. Even taking care there was still a bit of water getting in so the ones on my nips I had to take off after the shower, make sure it was all dry and apply some more.
I think tommorrow I'll have a shower in the bath using a shower-head I've got which will give me more control over what I do and don't get wet!

After the shower I made sure I was dry completely and put the 2nd vest on.

I think i'll only be taking off my plasters where the underarm and delt incisions are. I'll see how it look all look first actually.

I've got a bandage all around underneath the compression vest. may due to the fact that i had a lot taken out.

Hey man, how you feeling now?

Taken the plasters off the incisions yet? I took mine off earlier and it was fine, no fluid leakage or anything.

Happy recovery!

Dracksus, i taken off the plasters as well..not fluid seepage.  However, the chest area feels full of fluid.
here are some photos...

Just before being introduced to the knife

this dressing was a b4stard to take off..

One day post op...

I can already notice the difference...I know there is such a long way to go but i'm hoping this will only improve...some guys have said that they are unable to raise their arms above their heads straight after the op but i feel absolutely fine doing it.

Dracksus, you got any pics?

Re: surgery booked with Dr. Karidis 3rd March, pre-op pics
pics are showing fine bro..

feeling ok...it's weird but i dont have any bruising around my chest like majority... does that mean adequate lipo was not done?  then again, i am happy with what i can see.

i'm just lying in bed now, have taken off my compression vest. will leave it off for about an hour..really hurts under the armpits with vest.

Also guys, the pain killers really clogged me up. peeing was an effort and was constipated for nearly 2 days.  i have opted to take 2 paracetamol tablets every 4 hours.  i feel like i dont even need to them to honest..no pain but discomfort.

i'll try and post pics every day.

birmingham, i'm glad i changed the dates with you bro..

I can't see the pics either for some reason...

A tip for under the arms...put some (clean!) socks in between your skin and the vest. I've done it and it really helps stop the vest cutting into your skin!

Edit: Seen the pics now, results are looking brill! Well done mate!  ;D
