Hey everyone, i am appx 4 months post op and i have had alot of scar tissue build up... over the past 2 months it has gone down steadily and now it has seemed to have plateaued.. i have been "massaging" everyday (feels and sounds more like grinding) is this bad or good? my thoughts are that if its sounding like grinding it is still breaking down.. Just thinking about this all the time has me posting on this website looking for your input!

Also it feels as if the skin around the incision area along the lower half of my areola is a lot thicker.. this this a result of scarring?
thanks!

The active phase of scar tissue formation usually subsides by four months.  Massage can help reduce swelling -- but it has minimal effect on established scar tissue.

You might do well to return to your surgeon for evaluation and possible cortisone injection if he feels it is indicated.
