Prostate Cancer

I had a prostatectomy last August for Stage II(c) prostate cancer.  Unfortunately I was left with positive margins.  Though PSA levels are currently undetectable, I am concerned that somewhere down the road, I may need hormone therapy - which I have seen can cause breast enlargement.  I have been told that androgel treatments are ill advised.  My question is: Is this one more reason to undergo gyncecomastia surgery?  I have a consultation scheduled in three weeks.  Thanks.

If you do not presently have gynecomastia and are not even certain if you will need hormonal therapy there would be no reason to consider surgery.

Several treatment modalities for prostate cancer can result in gynecomastia, but if you don't have it already, I'm not sure what value a consultation would have.  If you already have it, then surgery would be appropriate, but it might recur, in which case, you'd probably be better off to have the treatment first and then consider correction.
