My surgeon did not have my size for the compression vests in his office. He instructed me to buy a tight fitting under armor. I've been wearing this for about 2 and a half weeks. Is this not the best option? And if it's not the best option will the under armor eventually suffice for the swelling?

I use a compression vest for the first week, and then many of my patients switch to Under Armor or another compression shirt for a total of four weeks.  It's not possible to comment on whether your compression shirt is adequate without actually seeing it on you, but with Under Armor, I usually suggest that the patient get a size smaller than what he normally would wear, and I've found that to be adequate.
