Underside.  You can see the small friction(I think) scab that appeared after I took the plasters off, the right nipple is alive so somehow it's causing it to scab over maybe by popping in and out against the vest. And that noticeable ridge under my nipple is one of those bone hard areas I mentioned before.

Looking epic mate, recovering well. Bet that raw nip is sore isn't it?! haha. You going to wear the garment at night or in the day when the time comes? (2 days right?). It's 12 hours you're meant to wear it in second phase isn't it. It's going to be great having that off. Such a pain in the arse, especially when you've eaten and it rolls up above your belly ha

Cheers mate  And yeah, it was the itchiest out of the two nipples, still is ha!  Didn't know wtf it was when I seen that scab but heard about others getting them.  As for the garment

To quote the literature -    

 "You will have a pressure garment applied to the area involved.  Please continue to wear it for up to 14 days (unless otherwise instructed), day and night and then reduce this either 8 hours of the day or night for an additional 1 week.  Having said that you can remove the garment for a couple of hours during the day, as respite, if you really feel you would like to have some relief from the pressure.

After 2 weeks the garment should be worn either during the day or at night time for another 2 weeks maximum"


Now forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a little contradictory or am I thick?  It says wear for 14 days then reduce by 8hrs for an additional week - 14 days + 1 week = 21 days/3 weeks.  But goes on to say, after two weeks etc.. Two weeks of what, two weeks of reduced by 8 hrs, two weeks from the op.  I am guessing it means wear it for another two weeks after the initial two weeks of 24/7

Yeh, I saw that and just thought - 'WTF'? If I didn't want to come across like a male thingy to the nurses I would suggest they made a timetable. Those statement are contradictory or just confusing if both apply.

I am under the impression that it's: 2 weeks solid followed by 2 weeks of 12 hours. Depends what defines 'day' or 'night' I suppose. It's unclear. I'll probably have to send a message closer to the time.

I confirmed it with one of Karadis' nurses because the documents were so contradictory. Apparently it's 2 weeks wearing it 24/7 and then 2 weeks wearing it either at night or during the day. Completely agree though - there should be some kind of timetable. Or just more thorough post-op information. I feel like you're left in the dark a bit and always wondering if you're doing the right thing or not.

Cheers knives. I just read over my previous post, I definitely didn't write 'male thingy' lol, I think the forum must have swearing moderation because I wrote a word beginning with 'd' haha. I'll probably just stick it on when I get home from work and take it off when I get up I think. Although it is horrid in bed! Decisions decisions. Still got over a week yet anyway!

Haha! I did wonder about "male thingy" - I just thought you were being very polite!

I think I'm going to wear mine during the day at work. Don't think I could cope with it at night. Plus, I'm just sat at a desk all day so I'm sure it won't be too bad (I'll find out when I'm back in on Thursday). Like you said, we've still got over a week anyway!
