 :) Flat!
So liberating huh.
We really got dealt a crap hand, but we're so fortunate that we live in a time where it's relatively easy to get fixed.

Cheers chaps.

At day 9 I feel great, i'd say back to 90% movement. It will be a while before i can stretch above my head, and i'm still a bit fragile with some movements.

Also booked for a follow up appointment with Mr Levick in mid December just for a chat and a check over.

Gotta start eating healthy again. Too many biscuits and sitting round. Can't wait to start the gym again.

90 % in 9 days, is 10 % every day, so maybe you are back to 100 now? ;)
When do you think you will start at the gym again?
Great to hear your recovery is going well :)

Thanks mate. hah yeah I just did my bench press record. ;)

I think that last 10% will take time to come now. I'm day 11 but I feel really good. Much less fragile. I'm ready to go back to work (office) and go out and about. I still feel the odd discomfort like if i walk down stairs too quickly or get out of bed too quickly.

I personally feel that 1 1/2 weeks is a nice recovery time. It's been a bit boring at times. Like my friends were going out last night and I wanted to go but it wouldn't have done me any good.

I've found the compression garment flattens me out quite a lot, more than the dressing. My left nipple is sticking inward ever so slightly but i think it will spring back out after i stop wearing the vest.

I know!! I am really a restless person... I hate to just take it easy.. It's soooo boring! But i know it's for the long term, so just using a lot of time at my laptop and my x-box at the moment!
So you are still avoiding alcohol? how long do you think you will do it?
I'm sure your nipple will pop back out when you take  the vest of.. how long are you gonna wear it 24/7? I'm at this point really looking forward to get the damn west on, take a shower and look and the results!!

I hear ya mate, i'm an active person so sitting around has been frustrating. But I think its an important part of the process. I'd hate to end up risking my results for a days fun. Its best to wait. The dressing is a pain in the ass mate, but its all worth it when you take it off.

My nipple is less squished tonight so pleased about that. The vest is giving me a slight rash on my back, i think I need to wash it soon which may help. The vest you are meant to wear for 2 weeks 24/7, and then night time only for a week.

As for alcohol, if someone offered me a beer now i'd probably have one, but proper nights out having a fair few drinks i won't be doing until maybe mid December. Probably wait until christmas parties.

Someone tried to hug me earlier which was more stressful that it should have been! ;)

Dear Diary ;),

All still going well. I can't keep up with everyone having gyne surgery at the moment! So many threads going on.

I stretched awkwardly this morning and pulled the right side of my chest a little when I woke up. Feels a bit funny, i'm assuming it will just go away over the day, i've just tightened my compression garment up and i'll take my time. The trouble is being back at work you can forget you've had the surgery when you're busy. 8)

Hi, you have a similar build to myself ( had op with Levick a week before yourself) do you have much in the way of scar/hard tissue and/or lumpiness? Ive got flippin loads! Not sure if its more than i should have though tbh.

All the best with your recovery bud  :)

Hi mate. I don't have any significant scar tissue at this point. Tiny bits near my arm pits. I have a small amount of swelling which vanishes after wearing the vest over night.

Are you able to get some pics of your scar tissue or is it awkward to photograph? I'm sure it's completely normal, i think everyone responds a little differently.

I had a follow up appointment with Mr Levick Monday, was good to have a chat post op and a checkover. He said my right side had a bit of swelling which would just be absorbed over time. He confirmed i'm able to workout again too just to make sure I don't over do it. The only imperfection is my left nipple is a bit creased, but i'm sure over time everything will settle nicely. It's a long old process, I think after 8-10 months it'll probably be spot on. For now, i'm just loving wearing t shirts again.

Side by side before and after

Exactly a month post op today then.. Looking great in the pre/post comparison shots and i bet it looks mych better now as well. I'm finding it interesting reading through your thread, as I'm 2 days post op and have a lot still to come.  When did you start massaging and whendud you start getting scar tissue?

Thanks! I haven't done any massaging mate, and I can't feel any scar tissue. I'm still wearing my compression vest of an evening and sometimes over night. I have a bit of swelling but that's it. Still flat as a pancake so all is good!

I think sometimes scar tissue can take a while to set in, i think Mr Levick said it could be up to 6 months, but don't quote me on it i can't remember :)

edit: tried a bit of massaging earlier after a shower just to see if it improved my chest. It seemed to flatten out even more after a gentle massage with bio oil. I may start doing it once a day after a shower/before bed for 10 minutes.
