Sorted in the end then, im not sure how you are travelling but the road outside stJohns parking isnt enforced on Saturdays so you can park there all day if someones driving you up there.

Just relax, in less than 48 hours time you wondering what all the fuss was about. Anxiety is a good thing in regards to surgery, id be worried it you werent anxious! You will lose the weight after the op, it will motivate you!

Cheers thetodd, just hope it's pain free and grief free.  Will let you all know how it all goes, if it actually goes ahead this time.  Dreading the recovery rollercoaster to come.

It will go ahead dont worry about that, today will have cost them a fortune.

The recovery process wont be as bad as you think, come Sunday you will take of the vest and be buzzing seriously its a great feeling. Yeah afterwards you have to go through some loops in your head but you get through it. I was thinking it the other day someone said, "oh the suns out im looking forward to the summer"if that was me pre surgery, id be getting worried having to take off my hoody, what tshirts id have to wear. When i think back to those days, they were dark times trust me your life will change for the better.

450 mil of fat from each side, including under armpit area, and 57g  of gland from left, and 47g from left.to me that sounds like loads, actually suprised.

Day1

Took the extremely sticky bandages off, the pain was awful. Feel so sore that I've kept the plasters on over excisions without having shower and put the vest back one straight away.  I've been given a medium vest it was too tight and caused me extreme soreness in the armpit area so I've put it on the 2nd loose setting. Having looked at my chest the first time, I was horrified to see loads of saggy skin and bruising, very flat, and Numb in areas. I guess this is all part of the recovery, it's only been 24 hours and I'm praying it all changes. I'm going to try not to look at my chest as it just makes me depressed. I'm only taking one pain killer every 4 hours and just took my last antibiotic. Feeling a little anxious at the moment, seen other people's 1day post op pics and they look a lot better then mine. But I'm just going to keep faith as 'much as I can.

Just a big thank you to everyone's encouragement.0

good luck sp.

Honestly mate when I first looked at my chest I was like W.T.F!

BUT honestly it does get better, I promise.

Keep the vest on, eat healthy, keep busy, and don't put any strain on your chest.
Do some online shopping or something (white t-shirts :P )

anyways good luck with everything

Thanks about to change... Might just do that.. Just really worried about all this skin, as you can see I had nearly 900ml fat removed and 100g gland removed.. I was actually shocked by these figures as karidis told me that I have only a small amount of gland there.  I will try get a picture up soon of all the loose skin so ou guys can take a look.

You must try to remain positive, because the recovery will take many months and it may be even a couple of years until you see your true result, in the mean time it'd help to lose a bit of weight and start exercising as soon as you feel comfortable, the excess skin is a result of the area being stretched over time by the fat (mainly) and the gland that was there.

Keep your chin up, its a long road ahead and one that's personally taken me 13 years and two failed operations.

Don't let your anxiety get the better of you and plague your life, you've been brave enough to take the step forward and get something done about something which you have battled with for a long time. If anything you should be at least be relieved, take some pride in yourself!  8)

No Agree that the final result could take a year, but I can see there being loads of excess skin,  just a little upset that I should not have been told my skin will snap back. However I am no doctor, and I only had the op yesterday, so this might just be normal at this stage. I will Defo lose the weight for sure, need to get rid of it ASAP, having the Gyno gone no just gives me more determination.

It doesnt look like excess skin to me, just looks like swelling. You've had quite a lot of gland removed (just look how small your nipples are now) which is why everything is looking crinkled up.

It will snap back into place for sure, in the next few weeks it will be noticeably different just keep on logging it all even if your not posting it on here its good to look back on

Hey man, you're one day out of surgery! It's not instantaneous, all sorts of weird things will be happening under your skin, hard lumps will come and go, string-like streaks will appear under your skin, the whole area will feel tender and tight.
Just be glad that you didn't get a hematoma, I've had TWO though this time around it was a lot milder than the first time. But the bruising was quite a shock.

Take Arnica and Bromelain or eat fresh pineapple if you can't get any (should be some on Amazon). After a couple week or a soon as you feel okay, do light massaging in the shower, it should not be painful.
