Hi,

It is very refreshing to hear your story.......

I myself have been living with gyne for 30 years, and have suffered a lot. The most amazing thing is not many ppl know, because i hide them very well.
My sufferings include special clothings that i wear. It had to be with heavy pictures in the breast area, checked clothes, thick clothings :(.
I also couldnt participate in swimming, and other events that require shirt off. Its very sad man.....

I never ever though of going for surgery, and thought that i would live just like that forever, but now, i have money, its no longer cash issues...i realize i should go for it.......screw it......not sure what happen but im willing to pay any amount to get rid of that freaking puffy nipples.

The thing i would like to check is.......for Singapore Amaris B Clinic, is there any doctor i should look for regards to gynecomastia? How long would the appointment of surgery be ( I wanna like do it right NOW!). Then lastly, will they need any of my next of kin to know. I plan to hide this from my family. Im probably only going to share with one close friend..........

Haven done any operation like this before, so really not sure.

Do advise.

Thanks

Hey! Well here's some pics for you. I'm not exactly sure why the doc decided to make the incision on the side of the nipple, will be sure to ask him again during my follow up next friday. Anw, just a little update, it's my 3rd day post-op, swelling has gone down but still there. No pain at all on my right side and it's starting to itch which is a good thing! As for my left side, it looks pretty bruised but not much pain, prob gonna take awhile longer for that side to heal.

Bro, it looks quite good, but i felt the nipples could be smaller?.... how bad was it before?....would you have any before pics? lol....

Hi ChooWei...

I believe TS, may already have moved on to his new life, and not returning to this forum. I dont see any of his recent post anymore.

However i must thank him, that through his post, i got to know Dr Ivan Phua and Amaris B clinic. I just done my surgery 3 days ago, and its awesome results (at least so far). I can now wear ANY shirt i want to.

I have to praise Dr Ivan Phua as a very confident doctor. He doesnt do much personal talk , just go straight to the point. Maybe he understand that gynecomastia is a very personal problem, and no point discussing it. He just go straight to tell you how he will cure it. Very very confident doctor.

The nurses there are awesome. Not sure if they were being sympathetic to me, but were really friendly :).

I advise that you go straight to the doctor Ivan Phua, if you are to remove your breast fats/puffy nipples. No point going to poly clinic all that stuff. Waste time + mental stress, embarrassment.

Fees are like,

Consultation: $50 (First time discussion, and arrangement for surgery)

Surgery: $3800 before GST, Remove Glands+Lipo (depends if you have fats only or fats+ puffy nipples. I had puffy nipples so i had to do glands+Lipo removal).

See what other info you need, i can provide you what i know.

Personal add on advise. If you have the $$, go for it, dont waste time. Your life really feel brighter after....cheers.

Oh and to add, i paid 1 lump sum by cash. I believe they accept other modes of payments.

I was hiding this surgery from my friends/families, so i avoided all these transactions on my card .

Hello there,

Firstly, I would like to congratulate you for finally having went through the surgery and also for wanting to share your experience in this forum.

I very much have decided that this is my time but Im just worried that the scars would be visible after surgery as I have quite a fair body tone and that my nipples are not that dark to cover the scars which im assuming would be dark. What was the advice the doctor gave you before operation day?  What to do and avoid before surgery day? Were you able to do your normal activities after the surgery? What sort of post-op vest was provided to you? How long were you being advised to have the vest on?   Ive seen some post op vests to be extremely bulky which are impossible to not be noticed under a shirt. Were you allowed to go home on your own after the surgery or did you have to be escorted?

Thanks.

Not much advise actually from the nurses. Its considered a very small operation (because it doesnt invade areas like organs etc.). Just no food after 12am the day before. I think they advise you to avoid smoking too, as it deters faster recovery.

Well, after surgery, 6-7 hours rest, you can resume normal activities, but not exercise and stuff. I was out watching soccer that night lol.....Whole chest is bandaged, and you will be wearing a compression garment (you can go google for it). It is not very noticeable, but still cant totally hide it. The neck area will expose a bit.......:(. After 24 hours you can remove the bandages, and bath, but you need to wear the compression garment for 6-8 weeks. This is the problem i face now.........im only wearing it when i sleep, as i dont want friends or families to see that garment.....so far, it didnt seem to affect my recovery though. Im 5 days post op, and im very happy with the result so far........Scarring is still obvious for now......but its only 5 days.......i will remove my stitches soon, and we will see from there.

Yes you can go home alone. thats the good thing :0.

Hi troubledman,

Thank you so much!
I think I have both fats and puffy nipple.
Just that I do work out and I have muscle at my chest, however, the puffy nip still
make me cant walk confidently and my chest look bit weird compare to the most guys.
I am really grateful that you willing to share all these very precious info to us.
I will contact the doctor as soon as possible and also do my best to save money for op.
Please do not forget to update your post op result regularly k? hehe >.<

Thanks, bro, for replying. Later I will be heading down to the clinic for my first consultation with the doctor. I have so many questions which I need to ask. For example, I need to know how many gynecomastia operations has the doctor performed and will ask also for the before and after pictures of his patients.

Im wondering as well if the amount of 3800 (w/o GST) is inclusive of the RF laser treatment which I believe is necessary for skin tightening? Well, I hope it is included because if not I will need to further top-up for that treatment. Money is not a concern to me anymore, not because Im rich but it has been so long since I've attempted to lose my man boobs but failed. I have lost over 20kgs over the past years but my moobs just refuse to go away. Surgery is my last resort.

I really hope that this would be my answer to have a flat chest. I have big dreams in life but my gynecomastia problem has been a hindrance for me to pursue them. I too have the same mentality of hiding this matter from my family members and friends. The stigma is too great. Im worried of the post-op experience which I will have to go through where I need to keep this operation a hush. How will I dress in such a way that will not expose that I have undergone for surgery? What if they were to ask when they brush my back and feel the binder underneath my shirt? Ah.. the trauma.

But ultimately, I know the surgery must be done. Whereas for the rest of it, I will just let the chips fall where they may.

Cheerio.

p.s I will be following your journal updates.

Last Thursday was my appointment with the doctor at Amaris B. The price has gone up actually as I was quoted approximate $4500 for the whole cost.

The break down as follows: $4000 for the surgery (both lipo and breast tissue excision). The price also includes the RF treatments (post-op) for skin tightening. $150 for the garment which is expensive because it is said to be of the medical grade (though this is optional where you can go buy your own binder if you prefer). Not more than 30 minute consultation fee for $50. Add them up with 7% GST, grand total of $4494.

During the consultation with the doctor, he showed me the before and after pictures of his patients where they all looked realistic to me. I also asked questions to the doctor on the doubts that I was having and he answered them fairly well. One thing I have always known, the removal of the male breast tissues has to be done via surgery. Exercise and dieting will only reduce the size of your moobs due to the fat burn but the tissues will always remain.

Anyways, I have booked an appointment to have the surgery done on 19/03/2014, after my Taiwan trip. Please pray the best for me and to rest who are still contemplating, may you be given the courage and means to do what is best for you.

Hi Hopeiswell,

Im happy to see you go for it, because i know its worth it. We gynecomastia people know it is :). Im also happy for Doctor Ivan Phua to have more business. Im sure through the consultation , you can see how confident Doctor Ivan Phua is. He has done a good job for my surgery, so im sure he will do good for yours too.

It is definitely a challenge to hide from family and friends, but well i somehow managed to do so. I have the luxury of a room by myself, so i could actually garment on and off, etc. I also had to smuggle the garment out and do laundry services outside hah......

Anyway its postop 13 days for me. Over the weekend i just went to remove my stitches. Not much pain, it was done by the friendly nurses, 3 of them. They seem to be having fun lol. I didnt get a chance to see Doctor Ivan Phua. I wanted to ask him if any chance the nipples would get puffy again (im so afraid hah...), and i wanted to ask him why there is a slight dent in. Anyway, the nurses actually answered me before i could ask them. They told me to ignore the dent for now, as my chest is swell, so my nipples look dented.

How i see the result so far? Its awesome so far, though im still not good enough to go half naked in front of anyone, due to scarring and swelling, but i look perfect with clothes on. And most important, my nipples are totally flat!. Thats the biggest change for me, i could really wear what i want and feel confident. The scarring are like dried blood skin on the nipples. Im just waiting for them to fall off. Swelling just make my chest looks buff up, but not like before where it looks womenly with that pointed chest.

I just finally went jogging today, 13 days after the surgery. I never felt so good jogging. I felt motivated to loss weight on my other area of my body now, which i never felt before due to that puffy nipples and fat chest.

I will have follow up skin tightening treatment on March, maybe we may cross shoulders

Seriously, if you ask me, one of the toughest time was the waiting for the day of the surgery to come, the moment you scheduled it. Dont you feel so? After the surgery, the world just feel so bright, even pain, or problems came, you will just feel so positive to solve it.

All the best!, and you to Choowei :).
