Hi Wicked Welsh,

I had my op with Levick on the 31st October all is going well so far.  I had the same thing as you where the binder was digging in and causing a major indent in my nipples.  Think the binder was too tight originally but didn't want to mess around with it so waited a week.  On Thursday I switched to the compression garment and wearing the binder over the top.  So far the indentations have decreased massively, I believe they are just pressure marks and will come out when I stop wearing the binder, but Im keeping the pressure on as much as I can at present to reduce swelling.  Hope the rest of your healing goes well.

Hi timmyt

Thanks so much for replying, sounds like you experienced exactly the same thing I am. Massive relief to hear that it starts to improve when you switch to compression vest as I was getting really concerned/paranoid that something wasn't quite right with it

Cant wait for 4week mark and getting back into the gym so I can fill out my new flat chest:-)

Hope your healing well

Cheers

Hi mate, congrats on your new chest. I'm almost 6 weeks post-op, just started lifting again this week.

Hi scaredguy

That's excellent news, how's your recovery going?

I'm 6 days postop now, the improvement over the last 2 days has been massive in terms of range of movement and comfort.  I drove for first time on Sunday and felt absolutely fine

Although its only 6 days since op I removed binder and replaced with my own compression vest as binder was very uncomfortable and was visible under clothes.  Im back in work today (desk job)

Since switching to compression vest the massive indents in my nipples that I had when wearing the binder garment have virtually disappeared :-)  bruising fading gradually

So far im very pleased with how quick everything is healing.

So nice to sit in work without hunching over and constantly tweaking nipples. Reallly looking forward to getting back into running and weights so I can pack a bit of muscle onto my now totally flat chest :-)

It sounds like your recovery is going exactly the same as mine!

I agree about the last couple of days, movement is a lot better. I too have switched to the compression vest. I had to trim around the neck area as you could see it easily under my clothes; was risky but has worked.

One of my incisions is healing a lot better than the other, but I emailed Levick with pictures and he assured me everything's going fine.

Hope your recovery continues to go well!

You guys must have been done around the same time as me, I was Thursday 7th November. Glad you're both recovering well :)

Can you remember how long we have to dress the incisions for please? Is it just for the first week? Thanks.

Hi Simba

Mine were so uncomfortable (tape pulling skin) that as soon as the incisions stopped bleeding the day after op I asked nurse if I could remove them and she said yes. I think they are used incase the wounds bleed or weep and if they arent doing that then there is no point keeping them on

I had my first shower yesterday since op. It was amazing, my chest is getting better every day and movement is improving rapidly.

Did you get the dents in your nipples from the binder garment? Mine have virtually gone now I've switched to to compression top:-)

Hope your recovering well

What is approx cost for a consultation with Mr Levick. From their website it's a bit ambiguous, but doesn't sound as though it's free.

Also, do you think he'd mind if I had the consultation now but the surgery in the summer?

Thanks

Hi achilles

I had my consultation in sep and it was free. I'm sure he would be absolutely fine with that.  There is no pressure for you to commit to dates it's just your opportunity to ask any questions and for dr levick to quickly examin you to see if you are definitely a sufferer.  He is an amazing man, id be very surprised if you decided against surgery after seeing and speaking to him

Cheers

I've still got by binder garment on mate, as not been a week yet. I took the original dressings off Saturday, to put fresh ones on they'd given me. Do you not have anything covering yours then?

I'm improving everyday thanks mate. Can get a tshirt on and off no problem now, sleep on my front etc. To be honest, I've been amazed how easy it's been pain wise.

Hi simba

I've not got anything covering them as they are not bleeding and seem to be healing well and scabbing over

Cheers

Thanks wickedwelsh.

I took mine off this morning and have been in the vest 24 hours now, don't even notice it. So much more comfortable that the original binder I was wearing. Plus it doesn't keep slipping down or needing adjusting.

Recovery is still going well. Hope yours is too mate.
