OTC Tamoxifen Alternatives

Hello.  Thanks everyone for this excellent site, it's good to know some people understand what I have to put up with!

So, I'm 30 and have had gynecomastia since puberty.  In general it settled down, and didn't cause me any pain after I hit about 18.  Then I hit 25 and it started to hurt again, especially on the left side, so I went to the doctor (UK, NHS).  I was referred to the breast clinic and was given Tamoxifen.  This worked amazingly well, and within days I was feeling the best I have in years.

So, I finished the course of Tamoxifen, and have only suffered a couple of days here and there with pain until now.  The pain is back again, mainly on the left side as before. It's not torture, but it's very uncomfortable, as it was years ago.

I went to see my GP yesterday hoping to get another prescription for Tamoxifen.  Unfortunately they said that they'd have to refer me to the breast clinic again, as it had been too long since I last had it.  Obviously that annoyed me as I know almost for a fact that all they need to do is give me Tamoxifen and the pain will go away!

So, my question is, is there anything over the counter that will get rid of my pain?  I'm going on holiday in 3 weeks and it would be nice if I don't have to put up with this on holiday.  Alternatively, is there any way I'd be able to get a doctor to prescribe me Tamoxifen before then, or does it really have to be done through the breast clinic?
