Some thoughts 4.5 weeks post op

1.   Nipples still puffy. One side worse than the other. There are rubbery lumps under both, one much bigger (on the worse side). The only thing that is giving me consolation is that these ‘disks’  connect to a ‘tail’ that goes to the incision. So hoping its just swollen/scar tissue from the lipo.  If it is, I feel like, once it goes away, it won’t be pushing the nipple out, allowing it to settle down nice and flat (ter).
2.   Massage- I’ve been doing this. I’m not sure how much its helping. It definitely makes things swell more , but than, since I’m sleeping with compression, things feel slightly improved in the morning. Sometimes I go a bit far and make myself pretty sore.
3.   After my post-op, where I expressed my concerns (and PS downplayed them) I have another one scheduled for 7 months out. My guess is he’s hoping I forget about it? I’m assuming I’m going to need a revision, so have started reaching out to other PS in the area to see if we need to wait a full 7 months or if, I’m healed well, we can do it sooner.
4.   Its frustrating that there isn’t a more standardized way of doing things across the board. I think for minor cases/ puffy nipples the ‘textbook’ thing to do is just lipo, but it seems that only the drs that have strong and deep experience with gyne use this as their go-to.

That’s all. Just some random musings.

He scheduled it that far out because it takes that long to fulling heal!

You didn't just bump into the wall you know, your body was cut into and messed with! So be patient with it and give it the time it needs to heal!

Good luck!

Sorry -- every patient is different and therefore there cannot be one "standardized" operation.

And your idea that lipo for puffy nipples will suffice is absolutely 100% wrong -- it requires lipo and  excision virtually 100% of the time.

Thats what I'm saying. I'm frustrated, because I feel like the best results come from Lipo+Excision, but this doesn't seem to be the 'go-to' for a lot of PS including the one I used and I wish it was, otherwise there wouldn't be such 'hit or miss' for so many of us.

If you don't mind me asking.

Who did your surgery? Where?
Also, are you a bigger guy?  Usually if you have more fat the gyne doesn't heal as well/fast.

Like dr Jacobs said, everyone is different.

No. I'm actually pretty skinny. My problem was just gland.

Hmm. You should post pics of before and after. Might help posters understand what you are talking about.
