Most people find you have more ownership when one works hard and saves his/her money and achieves their goals!

Good luck!

There are many guys who suffer with gyne and who do not have funds to pay for it -- you are not alone!  Working and saving for a procedure is very worthwhile -- and in the meantime, you can have some improvement by wearing a snug compression garment under your clothing to give you a better shape.

An alternative route is to visit a teaching hospital which has a plastic surgery residency program.  At the plastic surgery clinic, you may be accepted for gyne surgery.  There will be a small fee involved.  Your surgery would be performed by a resident surgeon in plastic surgery and under the guidance of a senior plastic surgeon.  Just be aware that there is a difference between the hands of a resident surgeon and that of a plastic surgeon with years of experience particularly in gynecomastia surgery.

Good luck!

There are many Doctors who will operate first and worry about the payment late when there is a medical emergency.    Gynecomastia is not a medical emergency but an elective situation.
There are insurance programs that cover the costs of Gynecomastia surgery, but the are not common. They are among the most costly of all insurance programs.  Finally, they commonly have restrictions on elective surgery and require you to have been on their policy for years prior to qualifying for the surgery.  Some would require you to use their General Surgeon instead of a qualified Cosmetic Surgeon.  In other words, there are significant risks.

Yeah, the only downside I see is if you get a crappy job like I did where you can think/daydream for hours, you keep thinking about the upcoming surgery lol.

Does that really matter?

If you set a goal, do your work, save your money and go for that goal!
