Just got my invoice and it's 1284$ total.  So yeah, his student price has gone up a bit.  It's not a big deal,  just want to get this op done and move on....

so after your consultation how many months afterwards did you have to wait before your surgery?

Had my consult with Fielding at the end of August and I could of have my surgery around mid/end November, but I'm planning it around school so I have it booked for Jan. 4th, 2006.

$1284, Achilles, seems we have to pay the exact same amount.

As for me, had my Consult with Fielding on Sept 26. and Im booked for January 11.
Currently i think everyone has to wait for about 3-4 months with Dr. Fielding.

They are close for 3 weeks in December, I think from the 10th until the new year.  I was hoping on having my op done between xmas and new years but I couldn't so I had to go with the 4th as my next best option.  And like CCSCC said, the wait is probably at about 3-4 months now.  I think it was at 2 months during the summer, but everyone is getting back to the grind of things now, so unless they have a cancellation, chances are you're gonna have to wait a few months to get it done.  Anyways, you should call the office and ask Leslie (secretary/assistant), she's the one in charge of booking the dates.

ehhhh Thanks for the help. I can't have it done during Jan because I have examinations so I guess I'll just have to wait until March Break.

How my day went:

-Woke up at 4:15 AM.
-Woke my Dad and Mom up at 4:17 AM
-Brushed, shaved, showered by 5:10 AM
-Left My house and arrived at St. Joseph by 6 AM
-Registered, Got changed and waited till 7.
At 7, a very nice and helpful nurse brought me in, asked some questions, answered any questions i had, and told  me by 8:45 AM will be my surgery.
-Around 8:45 was called in, walked through this hallway eventually reaching a surgical room, here i met 2 nurses and a docter; they were all very kind and understanding. Once again they asked questions such as allergies etc.. (same one everyones been asking).
-They brought me into the surgical area, at which point i began to get a bit scared, it looked very intimidating. one long bed, 2 large circular things that looked like a UFO with multiple circular lights staring me down... all sorts of equipment which i had no understanding of.
-The docter was gonna hook me up to some saline water (i think its pernounced liek that), they put it through the back of the hand, unfortunately when he put it through my left hand it didnt work properly, the moment he removed it, blood literally began to squirt out, it was soo red, very scary seeing my blood running all over my hands.
-My right hand was a success, i was hooked up nice and properly.
-They than put this sticky things on me, circular things, with wires hooked up, i think to monitor my vitals.
-At this point Dr. Fielding came into the room, he was very cheery, and energetic; He sat me up and drew some lines, than lyed me back down.
-While i was lying down, the other docter started pumping some solution into the needle hooked up to my right hand, before he did, he also told me they are gonna put some sorta tube into my mouth to ensure i keep breathing, but when i wake up my throat will be soar.
-He pumped 2 tubes of stuff into me---here is the freaky part, I DON'T REMMEMBER ANYTHING AFTER THAT; that stuff was powerful, i didnt even feel sleepy, i don't remmember feeling sleepy, its as if i was knocked out instantly.
-All of a sudden i woke up in another room, breathing equipment giving me oxygen through the nose, and the saline solution still pumpin into my hand; others were in that room with me, in the same state as i was. Once again the nurses were real nice, told me to lie down, and take a nap.
-I ended up falling a asleep, they woke me up, told me they were going to take me into another room, a room where i can have visitors; My parents were there. As i layed there, a nurse brought me ice cold water, and helped me drink it, later on she allowed my mom to help me drink it.
-Everynow and than a nurse would come to check up on me, she would check my bandaging, heart rate, oxygen levels, and blood pressure. She also brought me orange juice.
-Amazingly it was already 1 PM, and they said i can go; i told them i was feeling nasea, so a nurse gave me a pill, told me to take it when i get home, a side-effect is it makes me sleepy; the nurse also gave me a prescription for painkillers.
-Right beside my family Van.. i threw up, luckily i had a bag with me, so it went into the bag :).
-made it home by 2 PM, My mom made some plain coffee, and i ate some whole wheat bread with it (2 slices). At this point i took the nasea pill, went to bed; and woke up now and decided  to start writing  :).
-When i try to move my arms etc.. im in quite alot of pain, when i keep them still, i feel, still painfull though.

Well that was my day!! Once i remove the tensors etc.. ill tell you guys about the results!
Thank you all on this forum, you guys have been here for me while i went through this ordeal.
Hopefully it is all over, and ill have a bright future on the other side.
