I was last in public shirtless while swimming with a woman friend 35 years ago.  I was quite slim at the time and my fleshy chest was not terribly obvious.  But a lifetime of feeling uncomfortable about my chest, I'd spent decades without taking my shirt off in public.  Today I wouldn't dream of it.  My teen years were no fun, despite the fact my breast growth was minimal.  I simply was embarrassed by my pudgy body.

I had become very self conscious recently about taking off my shirt at the beach, I actually posted in "your stories" just yesterday. Have a read, maybe its not as terrible as you think.
