Interesting points guys.  I have read quite a bit about the drug online the last couple of months.  I have taken Propecia for about 3 months now with no extreme side effects.  No loss in libido.  However, did get acne on my shoulders and back that I never had before.  The gyno problem seems to be more of a worry to people than people actually getting it.  They find or see the possibility of gyno after reading about the possible side effect and start to wonder.  They could have had it before and just not realized or thought about it.  

But, I do believe the increase in estrogen can obviously happen.  Anyone have a problem with weight gain?

Read my above popst relating to the facts surrounding finasteride- which is contained within propecia and have a look at the problems it has caused.

Some people may be ok on this medication but I would suggest that the pitfalls for those who are not are too great- this drug in my honest opinion should be withdrawn from the market.

i've been a propecia user for 7  years. With propecia on its own , I didn't experience any serious side effect (or else have not been aware of them). But things changed when I I took 2,7mg finasteride a day instead of the 1 mg contained in propecia. Why did I do so? Bec ause the nominal dose of propecia wasn' t enough in my case and couldn't prevent some hairloss from subsisting, though slackened. Then the whole gamut of adverse Fx appeared and turnt out worse with Avodart which docs had advised me as being less harmful... That's why now I'm on this site... But I must add that the regained hair has "come to stay" and I cannot brush this off inconsiderately on the other hand. The advice  I now always give to those that want to increase tne dose is obviously: Take some aromatase inhibitor along.
