As a fan of vintage style bras I was pleased to get my hands on the Playtex 556 bra at a very attractive price and here are my impressions.  The Cross your heart bra is non wired and has a very stretchy frame making it very comfortable to wear. Like the Triumph Doreen it has wide shoulder straps and the whole bra stays in place throughout the day. It differs from the Doreen in having a more unstructured feel and notably less side support.  As you can see in the 2nd picture the bra struggles to project  side boob into the cup.   So not a perfect fit for my breasts, and some may baulk at the pointy cups which actually are  not that visible under loose tops.  Overall for a non wired bra I think it does a great job . I do prefer the Doreen  overall but I love this bra and it will likely fit me better in the years ahead if  my breasts develop further.

Hi AlphaQ,

That’s an interesting bra. I like the wireless bras best so it caught my eye. Do you still wear it or is the side panel not enough?

Hi Ben

Yes I still wear it because it so comfortable and I love the style but overall the Triumph Doreen is better because it offers more side support which helps keep my breast tissue in the cups. The Doreen is amazing considering it hasn't got an underwire.

The bra looks good on you. I always wanted to try the Playtex Cross your heart bra, but never did. I like the pointy retro style, but my favorite bra is also the Triumph Doreen. I hope that it never gets discontinued.
A bra is just an article of clothing for people with breasts.

AlfaQ can you please confirm two things for me? Does the bra run large, meaning that you have to downsize to get the correct fit? And even at your size, does it have 3 x 3 hooks at the back? To me, a wide band is important.

HI Evolver,  the bra frame is stretchy and I would go for your regular back size.  The pointy cups are a challenge so I  would down the cup size especially as it's a full cup bra.   I am wearing a 34B in the pic but I  can fill  a 34D in some balconette and demi bras.  At the back mine has 2 hooks but I believe that larger cup and band sizes have 3 hooks.  The shoulder straps never slip and the whole bra just stays in place all day.
