Well, it has been a few days since I last posted about my experience at the fitting. I have worn my bras almost all my waking hours (minus baths) and I can report that I feel about 100 times better. Some changes are easily attributed to the bra while others are not so apparent (to me).
To date, these are my findings.
Disclaimer: I should mention that my breasts are not nearly as large as many on this site, so my experiences may be different from others.
1. Acceptance/Anticipation: I believed that I needed to be fitted and to start my journey down this lace-lined pathway. Therefore I was expecting a positive experience.
My family as fully accepted my new 'features' and my wife thinks they are 'cute.' Family acceptance is probably 90% of success.
2. Psychological Preparedness: The fitting definitely helped me to see that physical requirements superceed societal 'norms' (if there are any).
I have watched several breast care clips and follow their advice regarding exercise, hygene, massage, and overall care. They seem to respond to gentle care.
'Experts' have told me that it is ok to personify them. I haven't decided on names yet. "Bonnie and Clyde" don't seem to be quite right. {wink}
3. Out and About: While my upper story annex is not huge, it does create some noticeable curves that are not necessarily common. For this reason, one of my first outings was to the largest university in my area. If I could pass the really strict scrutiny of collete coeds, I could go anywhere.
My trip was to a product return site at the campus where people must wait to be served. During that time, idle minds and eyes tend to wander. I did not receive any undue attention and it made my day!
Since that time, I have gone about my life in a routine fashion and have not avoided doing anything or going anywhere.
4: Benefits: Gone is my neck pain that was becoming chronic.
Improved is the knee pain I have experienced for several years. I attribute it to improved posture, but your guess is as good as mine.
No "Nippie Pokie" through clothing
Constant 'jiggle' is gone.
C-u-u-u-t-e styles and colors.
(list to be increased, I am sure)
5: Penalties: Takes a little more thought in getting dressed:
Care must be given to the rotation of the garments. (I have one for each day, so each is one day worn, six days to recover)
I suspect it is going to be a hot summer this year, but I am going to power through it. This should be the worst.
6: Regrets: I only regret not having made the decision to start wearing bras earlier.
I am still quite conservative in bra styles, but I will begin to be bolder soon. First one beyond my comfort level with have lots of lace and in a rosy color.
I hope this helps someone. It seems a little ego-centtric, but this sort of thing needs to be on a personal level, IMHO.
