One 'discovery ' made by accidently putting  a smallish  pair of low rise panties on  the wrong way round  is that is not at all uncomfortable!
I hasn't  to add that I  have never been over endowed  in the nether regions and am fairly average  build. 
Some might  find adequate  space for their  tackle and a way  of enjoying slightly more skimpy  underwear. Admitted.... the back will be halfway to a thong, but if it floats your boat.......
Personally I cope exceedingly well and enjoy a wide range of styles other than very highleg ones that lack a wide enough gusset. NPL styles are pretty  useless as well as there is no adequate  containment.

I've done that too. It's a long story and I won't tell it here, but for a while I was exploring women's/unisex options that my wife and I could share. What we were experimenting with at the time ended up being uncomfortable for me, so I turned them around one day and I didn't mind it at all! The extra coverage at the front was more than welcome, more for the reason that the gusset was wider where it needed to be for my balls. I don't need any extra room for Percy!

I've since move on to women's boyleg shorties, which have a wide gusset anyway, and are unisex enough to display in front of a doctor if necessary.

I recently read more men buy Granny panties than women because of the fit. It seems men do not have the same aversion against a panty called Granny as women do. It goes to women don't want to seem old and men aren't supposed to wear panties in the first place so it doesn't matter if Granny panties fit better than bikini cut. It's all taboo anyway. Granny panties usually have a high waist which is flattering if you have stomach muscles damaged by surgical scars like I have.  High waisted panties can suck you in giving a nice trim look and usually have a wide gusset to contain everything.  They can also keep incontinence pads in securely in place when needed.

Compression stockings (pantyhose) are great for tummy support as well. Incontinence supplies stay right in place as well.
