Hey everyone, I just wanted to start off by saying thank you to this community! Reading through some posts gave me the courage to go and get a fitting at Torrid and it has really brought a lot of QOL to me! I Was thinking this would be a good place to come to talk and learn more.
I was having a lot of back pain (lowest part of back, up to about the middle) as well as breast pain and my girlfriend ended up suggesting that I wear a bra. I did come to this conclusion two years ago and had some experience going and getting bras(was getting/wearing the wrong size) I actually had stopped wearing them for like a year because we ended up having another female roommate and I figured that I may have been able to hide it up until now, but surely luck is about to run out. I did keep 4 bras in my drawer for manual labor. But now with my SO being the one to suggest it I wanted to do it right this time.
I had gone on a search for a bra and after 15-20 hours of researching breast shape, breast root, bra size, projection, and re measuring the 6 measurements that abrathatfits uses. well, then I realized that I was still unsure on a lot. Mainly breast shape and a little bit on breast root. I decided to go and get a fitting at torrid. It was an amazing experience. The fitter was nice and helped with each style I wanted to try, which was the xo plunge pushup, Torrid's t-shirt bra, and plunge bra. She also brought me an unlined full coverage underwire bra. I ended up getting the xo plunge push up and the full coverage unlined underwire bra. I haven't been able to wear the xo in public because of the drastic size increase, but it does feel pretty supportive. The unlined one fits pretty well and fixed my posture really fast! I was actually slouching my shoulders forward to hide the side boob. The only downside is the gore's wire slightly sits on my breast tissue.
I did go to Walmart after the torrid trip to get a sports bra, but i decided not to use the fitting room because it felt different. Do you just pick some bras and ask to use a fitting room? How have experiences been at places like target, Jcpenny, Macy's, Victoria secret, etc?
I did grow up as a chunky kid, but pretty sure the breasts I had were just psuedo since as young adult i was able to get flat chested. Did it probably the worst way possible by skipping eating for a few days (due to depression) but walking long miles and working hard in a physical job. I ended up eventually started to eat to many sweets i guess, like fudge. The weight came back pretty quick i think that's about when i realized that my breasts were shaped differently than the first time i had boobs. researched gynecomastia and ended up finding the disks under each nipple. Looked up the differences between breast cancer and gynecomastia and if I remember correctly, it said that if you feel pain then it's probably gynecomastia, but if you don't then it could be either or. I actually have not been checked on it by a doctor. Turned into an adult and ended up not going to the docs or dentist. i have done ER visits but haven't had a primary doc in...oh wow i think over 10 years. I am 32 now.
Few questions. I'm sure i have more that I'm just not remembering...
When you get breast pain is that growth happening? Will my nipples and areola get bigger and bigger as the gyno progresses more? i think that I'm at stage 3. I'm at a 40c with sister sizes of 38dd and 42b. breast is shallow so I'm assuming that when it rounds out that would put me in stage 4.
I'm not sure what else to put in this post lol
I'm glad to be here! Thanks for reading!
