Nokiojazz,

Sorry that it has been almost a week with 40 reads and no response.

Your question was addressed to someone who had surgery and it went well.  Those people are seldom here.  Which is both a good thing and a bad one.

It is good in that they are getting on with their lives. But it is bad in that we have lost them as a resource to help others.

I am an old man who lived most of his life before surgery for gynecomastia became available. I might be able to help you with coping strategies, but that is not what you asked for.

I am a devious old devil and I might help you in another way, Simply by answering you, I am returning your post to the top of the pile.

Better luck on the second time around. I'm sure someone out there has your answer.

The majority of people on this form are people who HAVE gyne and WANT surgery, or are in the process of having it removed or the few weeks following its removal. After they are all healed up, gyne free, they are gone with the wind! (at the beach or course) From time to time, they will come check in, but thats about it.

Male breast reduction (gynecomastia surgery) is a very common procedure. Do a google search. I read somewhere it is one of the top 3 procedures being done on males.

Its not as common as one would think, its just a very secretive, embarising procedure, that not alot of people wish to talk about.

Sorry vaio, I usually agree with you but this time I think you missed the point.

If male breast reduction is such a common surgery, and people are secretive about it, the condition is probably vastly under-reported. meaning that it is probably much more common and hence more normal than many people are willing to believe. Probably more common, Hence more normal than some people want you to know.

A Google search using the word Gynecomastia will lead you to page after page of listings for sites of Surgeons, Clinics, compression garments and herbal remedies. Gynecomastia is a Cash Cow for many people.  There are also a number of Porn sites listed.  Except for this site, there is very little genuine information.

Searching through an on line Medical Dictionary or Medical Encyclopedia renders only the most simple and vague information, often with an automatic link to a surgeons web site.

If you know how I can do a search on gynecomastia  without being inundated with sales hype, I would greatly appreciate the information.

  • Wilma, grab the lotion, we're going to the beach!
vaio. I agree, it's not as common as one would think. Although of all plastic surgery done on men, it's probably up there. I agree it's not really talked about.

Funny thing is, I've known several women over the years who have had liposuction on different parts of their body and 2 women who have had breast reduction surgery.

Why I never made the connection that they could do liposuction and breast reduction surgery on a man i'll never know.  For about 20 years I never made that connection. Wow, looking back, it was so simple.

If you've got puffy nipples and considering surgery, find the before and after pictures of "H8 Gyno". Mine are just a bit less puffy than his were, and I'm going to the same surgeon too.. so I hope to have results like him. They are amazing.
etc.

No offense meant vaio,

We all make typographical errors once in a while that tend to turn what we say around.

When I make a similar faux pas I hope you (or someone) will set things straight for me.
