How long should I wait until I can start running again? I'm exactly 3 weeks post-op today. My surgeon said I can start running now, but running requires a lot of "bounce" in the chest area and doesn't seem all that great for the recovery process. My runs typically consist of 6+ mph for 30-40 mintues, which usually totals 4 miles.

By the way, this is my first post so I guess I should introduce myself a bit. I attend college in New York and had surgery once school ended. I was originally scheduled for winter break, but something in pre-admissions testing was always off. I had some hematology work done and discovered that I had/have a mild Factor VIII Deficiency (aka Hemophilia A). It wasn't too bad so with the help of some DDAVP to boost my Factor VIII, I had surgery on May 20th. Today marks 3 weeks post-op and the removal of my compression vest. Hopefully nothing decides to leek or ooze out now that I've taken it off. I can't wait to get back to the gym :)
