First of all surgery is not the only solution. If you want to get rid of it and you have breast tissue, it is the only real answer. In early slight cases and with the right drugs in some cases it can be resolved.
As for how common it is, I have heard that it is the 4th most common procedure on men and the most common procedure for men.
I am not sure who really keeps stats on this, which is part of the problem. So much around this is essentially made up.
Most are happy with surgery results, and the ones that are not sometimes are trying to get the surgery to solve other problems. It does not work that way.
It is great that you don't want surgery, but resenting others that do is a problem. Again you are angry, why don't you talk to a therapist about that anger. BDD is a big problem, that no amount of surgery will solve.
