gland breaking up from tamoxifen

The gland does not actually break up, it simply shrinks and goes dormant. This means that it could come back later if the hormonal conditions were right to stimulat it.

Actually the same thing happent to a post menopausal woman, which is one of the reasons why their breasts sag.

i knew the gland wasn't actually breaking up... i wanted to bump this up for all those who were so certain that nolva would do something (anything) for actually getting rid of glandular gyne tissue.

seems this forum just goes through the exact same posts over and over and over again...

perhaps there should be a sticky at the top stating:

"Nolva/tamoxifen/arimidex/letro/etc/etc/etc/etc/etc are not going to eliminate glandular gyno. Any improvements in the condition are temporary at best and the condition will revert to its original status once the meds are discontinued. Please do not use these medicines with out proper knowledge and advice from a doctor"

if it's like any other board, no one will read it but then we can at least make stupid comments like "Read the damn sticky, this same question has been posted a bazillion times"

I agree to some extent. Make no mistake, nolva/arimidex/ letro have been shown to help/eliminate the symptoms of gyno, but this medications just treat the problem, not its cause. If you remove the gyno, without dealing with what caused it in the first place -hormonal imblance, glandular, ect- it will definately come back. So in this sense, they are temporary solutions.

See a specialist, do not self-medicate. Deal with the cause of the problem, not just the problem itself.
