I'm in my forties, and I've had fairly severe gyno since my teens. I'm not overweight--I just have prominent breasts and big, puffy nipples. In the past six months I've begun to experience a clear, slightly sticky discharge from both nipples. My doctor tells me it's prolactin--the same substance women produce before lactating. I've been a bit embarrassed to go into this further with my doc. Anybody here have the same issue? Anybody here with gyno who's been lactating? Help!

get to the doc and get some meds to get your prolactin back into normal levels. not only will you stop lactating, but you will generally feel better as well. high prolactin levels affect more than just your nips

Ditto,

It is not enough to simply say the problem is prolactin, The cause of the high level of prolactin must be identified and corrective action taken.

The range of things that could cause your elevated prolactin level goes from things that yield easily to oral medications to pituitary tumors.

Follow this up until you have some solid answers and a treatment plan.
