Why did my ps say 6 weeks for cort. shots to work?

I had kenalog shots 3 weeks ago to help with post-op scar tissue problems, and my ps told me that it'd take about 6 weeks for them to take effect, if at all.

Just wondering why it is that they take 6 weeks to work? How are they suddenly going to do something or have some sort of an effect over the next 3 weeks, if they do at all?

Anyone who's had these and can provide any info based on your own experiences , Id be very appreciative.
