wow thats nice to hear, i've been following your scar tissue recovery journey cause im on the same boat as you... im 1 months post op and have lumps of scar tissue under each nipple and it makes it look alittle puffy again...

I havent been massaging or anything cause i dont know how to do it.

Im just concered abit cause above my right nipple, theres a patch of skin thats still numb and brused in colour... is this normal?

yeah thats normal. the body will do that after such a major procedure.  if you have a vest continue wearing it, its annoying but it will pay off down the road. the recovery time may be very frustrating, so be patient with it. massaging may be difficult at first, but youll get used to it. also i suggest scar therapy pads by curad or neosporin, good luck :)

Well the bench pressing got up to 220 and wrestlings well underway, in combination with the pads the improvement has been very gradual. There is  a significant decrease in tissue mass, it seems to be broken down but still present.  loose skin is the main problem, when wrestling ends i will resume lifting and begin creatine, then by summer it will hopefully look great.

Excellent, we're in the same boat and seem to be improving at a very similar rate.  It's a little hard to get too excited tho, until its completely gone...best of luck!

  • Gyne free, is the way to be!
noshirt,
you are not going to notice change if you look at it every day. Try not looking at you scars for 1 week. Just rub the neosporen on by feel.

I have lifted weights since I was 12. I look back at pictures from 2 years ago and I get suprised as hell that I grew so much muscle. Point I am trying to make is, you don't realize a change because you see it everyday.

Well its been a year and 6 days since mmy surgery, overall i'm pleased. There continues to be a very gradual improvement but i think i look normal for the most part. i'll try to post some pics. i'm very excited about being able to go to the beach shirtless and actually proud of my body for the first time.

Well haven't been here for a long while.... its been a year and 6 months since my surgery, and a lot of the time i dont even think about the problem i had earlier. i'm pretty satisfied with how i look, im not so critical of my chest anymore because it looks perfectly normal. my confidence is the highest it has ever been and i'm also the happiest i've been. i was very fortunate to have this procedure done when i did, and i reccomend it to anybody provided you use a board certified plastic surgeon.  i believe the mental aspect of recovering from the surgery is the most difficult part.  good luck to everybody, keep your heads up
