scar tissue from nipple surgery

Hi, I had nipple reduction surgery almost a year ago. No gyno. Just elongated nipples. So, I had a P.S cut some off. Right after the surgery I felt tissue forming under my areolas. The tissue is still there a year later. Could this be scar tissue? It would make sense that it would be just scar tissue, however it does feel like gland tissue. Could someone give me some insight? Thanks for your time!
